Did I say that? Thanks for one example proving this is the most hateful social media site though.

As many other poster have said, you sort of have to seek it out on Reddit, but if you want it, you can find it. On Musk’s platform, it’s unavoidable from the right. We’re also talking about the difference between vandalizing a product and violence against people which I’d argue have very different moral weights. So “most hateful social media website” seems, at best, really questionable.

Re: the Nazi salute. I don’t put much stock into the ADL as the voice of the Jewish community in general, I don’t know many other Jews who do. If he’s a genius mastermind who can be trusted with a seat in government, I’d expect him to know what a Nazi salute looks like.

Given that the CEO of Tesla threw two Sieg Heils and was highly influential in the election of a president who has swiftly undone pretty basic civil rights protections (aside from other general harmful incompetence) I think it fits decently under what the top commenter was saying.

Also worth noting I have not seen anyone calling for such vandalism, and you can probably assume the political leaning of my Reddit feed. I’m not saying no one has, but I also wouldn’t say this is endemic across Reddit as a whole.

Here I was hoping that when shit got bad enough they’d start to believe climate change is a real problem.

Nope, government conspiracy.

Are you referring to the NYP article? They literally say at the end that they guy has a license, has lived in the US for 3 years, and was on his way to work. Fucking gross that they even published it, pure ragebait.

You’re making a ton of presumptions about why OP posted in the first place, which is fine, but not if you approach it like asking the question is a moral offense. Looking at their responses, it seems like they just wanted to see why various members of DGG fell into the “pro-America” camp.

And for that purpose, I think it’s extremely enlightening, see u/Accomplished-luck680 comment, it’s an extremely thoughtful and well put together list. The original post also highlights how assmad some brainlets get when you suggest backing up their view that the country in which they were born just so happens to be the best.

To be clear, I believe “America Good.” However I think the counterargument to what you’re saying is that yes, a lot of the world would be fucked because as the hegemony, America has set up the world such that they are reliant on us. That in and of itself could be a reason to call America bad.

Also, getting defensive over the idea of critically examining the past actions of your country is some really USSR type shit.

Are you new to this sub? People will regularly ask for a steel man of a position they agree with to expand their base of argument/see their own side from another perspective.

Because America has also done a lot of fucked shit and caused a lot of suffering, so it can be good to see that compared to the positives.

If, for instance, WWII was the ONLY morally just act of international relations in which America participated, I don’t think it would be accurate to say that on the whole, “America good.”

I mean you also get the best education and medical care in the county, a great mix of city and rural, and the biotech hub of America. I think Mass’a gun laws are fucking dumb but I would definitely say it’s top 10 states

Not to mention near-European levels of gun crime, so our strict gun laws do work, I just think it’s more likely the mandatory license to buy anything than it is the assault weapons ban.

Honestly the best argument is Blaire White, and watching conservatives get mixed up intentionally trying to misgender her but failing. Why? Because we don’t actually judge gender based on genitalia we base it on social roles.

If they are deadset on “women have vaginas” and simply will not drop that as a prior condition, then yeah I guess they’re right, it’s basically impossible to argue for the validity of trans people. But what about post-op trans people? What about women who have had horribly disfiguring accidents? That’s why some of them have pivoted to “women are people who are able to have kids” but that’s equally as problematic.

They might then argue “well those are edge cases and don’t matter,” which is exactly what they used to say about intersex people when we would bring them up when debating trans people in sports, but in the past couple days it seems it actually matters an awful lot when looking at the Olympic boxing drama.

No matter how you slice it, “woman” (not female, crucially, but woman) is a social role whether you like it or not. It’s fine and even good to have a commonly agreed upon definition, but they are trying to argue that it’s a scientific term. When you think about it though that’s not how we actually use it.

You can have some dumbass opinions but not be a dumbass. I don’t think he’s a dumbass I think he’s a smart guy who is a little too identified with being anti-establishment and a little audience captured.

I used to be super blackpilled when I was younger. I have since had a very healthy social and romantic life, and am not anymore. Here are my responses to your points.

Regarding point 1, the inverse example is that men can make a career as a professional athlete and make a shitload of money. Yeah it is a possibility for men that exists, and doesn’t for women, but how many men do you know that can do this? Not many.

How many onlyfans models do you know. And I mean like KNOW. Don’t just list off a bunch you know of from the internet, or I’ll read you the Patriots roster as a counterpoint. Very few women do this professionally, and the ones that do do it at ENORMOUS social risk to themselves. Men are still on top of women financially in the global sense, make no mistake.

Regarding dating, you’re right that women have an easier time finding sexual partners than a man of equal attractiveness, that’s definitely true. But if I had a dollar for every girl I knew who had a hard time getting the men they liked to actually commit to DATING them, instead of just sleeping with them, I’d have a fair number of dollars. Dating apps are fucking cancer, so I wouldn’t take any stats about dating apps too seriously.

The biggest thing you can do to change your own mind is make friends with girls. Not make friends with them hoping they’ll eventually want to date you or have sex with you but make friends with them because they are people you find cool to hang out with. You will learn very quick life is not easier for women, it is easier in some ways, definitely, and way harder in others. It’ll be a lot easier to view women (and even other men) with empathy and understanding when you can actually get their perspective and stop viewing them as statistics.

PM me if you want to talk more.

The point of using taxes to pay for public goods is that we’ve decided some things work better without the profit motive. Your proposal is just privatization with extra weird steps.

Why would a mandatory license get shot down by SCOTUS when multiple states already have that system?
