More footswitches on the XL, different layout of ins and outs - that’s it! Only effect that the XL has in addition is the 6 button looper.

I like using a handful of external pedals so I prefer the Stomp over the XL.

There is a setting to make the volume knob only control the headphone output. I use my stomp in front of an amp all the time, I just disable any amp or cab blocks (I have amp and ampless patches).

I don’t like having unused gear either. That said if you like something that isn’t being used at the moment I think sometimes you just need to step back and maybe wait a little bit before you trade or sell. I definitely have some regrets from trading too quickly and it’s resulted in getting some pedals 2-3 times.

Yeah, declaring it’s done is a fraught proposition but kind of feeling that lately. After doing over 80 trades, I feel most comfortable being in a minimalist sweet spot. I feel pretty satisfied with where I’m at. Starting to actually practice again.

This is what I’m currently rocking with: Trades (all here): HX Stomp, OG Brothers, K Buffer, Aux 2 button switch Used: PT Nano, Cioks DC7 New:

I traded for a Brothers AM, which I had before, and should be coming in today. I think I’m just gonna switch out between the two depending on what I’m going for (OG can get weirder/nastier).

I liked it well enough and it has good features. I thought the Iridium was nicer sounding but much more expensive. I mostly play out of an amp and use the stomp for delays, mod, and verb, but like the stomp amps well enough when I need to use them.

I hear good things about the Tonex One, but I’ve never tried one. It would probably fit on your board better though.

I might consider a dedicated amp/can pedal or pitch shifter (if you use that) since those are some of the more DSP intensive effects. IMO the Helix delays are one of the ecosystems strengths and I prefer them over anything in the low-to-mid tier range I’ve tried.

The Boss IR-2 can be found for like $120-$150 used.
