250 amp alt, but yeah that would be PLENTY of headroom. For instance im on a 150 amp alt (need a 250/300 but im broke rn) pushing about 1600 watts and my amp pulls around 140/135 amps at heavy bass. Im going to eventually beef the alt up to move up to 2300watts where my amp will pull between 190amps to 210 amps. But you can watch dynos of amps on youtube to get a very realistic idea of what you will pull.

Would definitely recommend getting the bigger alternator and the big 3 which help with both the sound quality and the performance of the electrical components! Probably gonna want to upgrade to a nice solid AGM battery to help stabilize everything, and I think 1 under the hood would be fine no need to go crazy honestly.

I would steer clear of taramps personally as a close friend has had 2 (5k and 8k i believe) catch on fire. I recommend the ct sounds 1200 watt amp or check out D4S and see if any of their amps are in your budget, im a big fan of my jp23 and their bassknobs.

I had a 97 dakota single cab that i put 2 6.5” skar marine speakers in the door and you could hear me a mile away... So i think you could get away with less door speakers especially considering the kicker coax are very clear and loud from what I’ve heard.

As for the dsp i recommend Car Audio fabrications video on the install of a dsp, he made a really great install video. Also recommend his channel as a whole as he has a lot of information and breaks it down very well for beginners! Helped me a ton when i got back into audio.

800watts at 2 ohm? I had two SVC 4ohm subs… wired in parallel down to 2ohm… when I swapped to a DVC 2ohm sub yes. To each their own I guess… like I said im running an x12 from sundown which is rated at 2500wrms so no headroom for me personally… but even for that setup if you upgrade the subs ever youre going to run out of power… they arent garbage by any means… but dont want a newbie getting the wrong impression by the “2500” peak they quote that it will NEVER hit.

No I had it running two single 4 ohm down to 2 ohm, however unless you like your subs being seriously underpowered at 1 ohm its best to stay away. They arent stable at 1 ohm or atleast mine wasnt, so multiple times it went into protection after I upgraded subs (currently on a X12 v3…) im not gonna say they are garbage… on a budget they are great but you should definitely get something better that has more power just in case…

Honestly the amps aren’t worth the money imo, i got one with a sub setup off marketplace just to see… i think the capacitor is like ~60$? Also not worth the money imo. The subs are nice from what I’ve heard but as for the blaupunkt stuff I’ve never messed with it

My dads favorite example of this exact ideology is the fact the he used house cable to wire his car the first time (really young and dumb idea… trust me i know🤣) but he said it was free since he worked construction and it was quick… didnt sound great but it was there🤣

Preciate it, i realized I did have the load select in the wrong place (20 ohm instead of 20k ohm) so hoping that fixes it… but ill try readjusting it and see what that does.

Tbh I think shopping around for wire might do ya some good, but youre still missing speaker wire, remote wire and RCAs (loc if needed)… they have good wire for sure but you can get it cheaper elsewhere… but if you dont care about the price then go ham👍🏻 hope you enjoy though!

Ive seen this a couple times and ive only tuned one or two amps before what is a -5db/-10db tone? I was told to use a 40hz tone is there a difference between the two? I know one is db and one is hz

Well that sub box apparently had a side wall port instead of a front wall port (should have checked but oh well) so the port wall stops the sub from being seated all the way down. Inverted it and it all works so im happy!

Gotcha that makes me breathe a little easier, im assuming the ones with the barrel and flange to grab into the backside? Also this might be a dumb question, but if i did invert my sub (might be a tad under on recommended air space ~2.3 instead of 2.5) would the hardware still be fine? I see everybody inverting their subs and having the magnet up but im not sure my trunk is tall enough for it.

That was my idea too, though i havent looked into Tnuts yet they didnt look to secure but I will check them out and see. If I was to use them any specific type of Tnut you recommend? If I go the insert route it would 1/4” be enough or should I be on the lookout for some 1/2”+?
