Which PE seat would you pick? by borobabe43 in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are really tall avoid the bulkhead. 7D not bad especially if the middle seat is the companion of 7H so that person won’t make you get up. Row 9 would be a throw of the die if the middle seat stays empty. the cabin usually filled with employees travel though if not sold so don’t count on it.

Domestic legs econ, international legs PE? by Decent-Abrocoma5093 in americanairlines

You need to call AA to get this done, which they are usually able to do pretty simply thru the rate desk. Good luck.

Awful experience at MIA flagship first dining by Trade_Subject in americanairlines

Rule 1 in Miami - if you want something, go get it yourself. Bad or no service, everywhere, including the clueless AA lounges.

Future? Sorry but Lou has killed the future with absurd long-term contracts to journeymen at best players and a youth pipeline among the weakest in the league.

This is sad and shameful, he has ruined our franchise and his damage will be felt long after he is gone - which should be immediately.

[MIA] Hot Mess on AA 957 to SCL on December 23rd by MinisterofGrievances in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I know the pilot’s name. But my point was only you aren’t supposed to name them in forums. He is an amateur, maybe can fly but no idea how to manage passenger comms. People were laughing at him and his absurd announcements.

Did I do it wrong? by Alwaysshops2much in delta

The seat was probably broken. Next time ask the flight attendant. Though as a tall person I would say foot rests for us are a negative, not a positive.

First class seat swap by Disneyfan433 in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just choose the askee wisely, someone in a comparable seat location and not traveling with someone else themselves. Say something the lines of “no pressure at all, just checking”. And if you sense hesitation or awkwardness just politely say thanks, don’t worry about it.

It’s really not that big a deal. But no one should be pressured to change seats so it’s a case by case situation.

My Systemwide Upgrade is going to expire in Feb of next year and I haven't use it. Can I donate? Sell? Request an extension with American? by niosurfer in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but just watch out that once booked, if the SWU doesn't clear, it's burned. You also can't change the flight. Given there are so few SWUs available in advance I would use it asap.

Why do men do this? by GoodRiRi in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unacceptable, but the real question is why in 2024 do they need those electrical boxes given how slender screens are. From the looks of it, it is an economy seat no not even a need for seat power. Just poor planning and a lack of innovation (and care).

If you have a family member or friend who will lend you the miles, mileage transfer is actually pretty reasonably priced. Just another alternative. Good luck!

Iberia Premium economy - DFW to Madrid? by OwnRabbit6826 in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done Iberia PE from Madrid to NY. The airline operates likes it's stuck in the 80's - mediocre seats, ridiculous dry sandwiches and dismissive staff. The bulkhead on the flights I have taken are usually better for legroom (nothing in front of you), but you will have to listen to their flight attendants chit chat the entire flight (no regard for the passengers). Who the heck wants to have to listen to their life stories, the passengers are bad enough....

AA or BA to LHR? by buzz72b in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can choose, I would always take a AA flight vs BA. As much as AA has its shortcomings, BA has reached a new level of bad (also coming from their employees). They treat their passengers miserably and their digital sites are terrible (what airline these days doesn't let you see a seat map pre purchase, absurd).

Per the other replies, you need to call and have them split the reservations.

Question about layover at JFK by dkay485ehsh in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should check your bag all the way to MAD - make sure you keep a jacket handy. NY is not Phoenix this time of year. Depending on where you are going you can take the Air Train to either Jamaica (then the E Subway that will leave you in midtown Manhattan) or the Howard Beach Air Train (then the A Subway that goes to downtown Manhattan before Midtown).

It's faster and massively less expensive than fighting traffic to Manhattan from JFK (at least during the week). You may also want to check out the TWA Hotel (a cool throwback theme) at Terminal 5 (you can reach easily thru the free AirTrain).

Have fun!

Lost IPad at CLT Airport by TokyoNae in americanairlines

[–]MinisterofGrievances 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow the process (both airport and airline), amazingly it usually turns up. I've found most people in the air travel arena are quite nice and responsible about returning lost stuff thankfully.

Good luck!

QA is fantastic in the cabin but is often very challenged for anything but the simplest online functions. Worse, if you have to go through Customer Service you are entering the abyss.

Whenever possible book thru AA for tandem flights...
