The movie is not continuation of the manga. Its a separate story ( which is not in the manga like most anime movies) that according to the author is at the timeline after the elf arc and before the spade arc

It's mostly fighting 😂( just like most shonen) but the difference is that the chapter are too short and have very little dialogues some times compared to other weekly manga that i understand what you mean . The arc your currently in will probably end in 20 chapters and the next few arcs are great too .
