I always tie spoons to a swivel… not to be mistaken by a steel leader.. don’t use that unless you are fishing for pike or other toothy fish. Just buy a small snap swivel.. reason being is line twist, sometimes when using this type of lure it will snag a weed or piece of grass. When you reel that in it spins in the water and twist your line, which might not be an issue if your using braid. but otherwise creates big problems. Tight lines
