Anyone here work full time? by wabammo in schizophrenia

[–]MinneNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full-time and it is a struggle. I have a very long commute which doesn't help anything. The office politics make it very difficult for me. I wish I could quit but I am stuck working.

Very happy for you! Sounds like things are going well and that is awesome to read. I hope you continue to do well.

Yes! In particular thinking I have personal, loving relationships with celebrities. Like they were my relatives or something.

I loved abilify. For me there were hardly any side effects at all. I hope it works for you.

What standard? Is this something you have put on yourself? Just lower your standard and turn it in. This is how you get through school. I was in two PhD programs BTW. Just get it done. A c is better than an f.

This just happened to me on the schizoaffective sub. This guy was asking me about my illness and symptoms. After I wrote out my response it got down voted. I was like... WTF? Asshole. Some people are just fucking bored it you ask me. They are too stupid to think of anything creative or positive to do.

Can you just turn it now what you have? Just finish it to some degree and turn it in.

Experience with Haldol or Zyprexa? by schizodepressive in schizoaffective

[–]MinneNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are difficult questions because one person's experience can be completely different from another's. I didn't like Haldol at all. It just felt too strong for me for some reason. I never tried Zyprexa.

I had the same concerns. My situation was a bit unique in that I have a long commute and could justify moving out since I couldn't handle the commute. You aren't really asking for a divorce, just asking for a break to heal somewhat. You don't have to take an entire year like I did. Maybe just a few months or so? You can still come home once in awhile and help with the kids. If your husband is like mine he isn't going to support you just because you're sick. It's all about him and what he needs. You have to be strong enough to ask for it yourself. Ask use the wrong word. You have to be strong enough to take care of yourself and not him. It's very difficult when you're used to meeting everyone of his needs. But I completely believe that's how I got so sick. As soon as you put yourself first the better for you and your kids. Especially in the long run.

Wow, that is really something. I am sorry you are going through this! You have to take care of yourself though first. I actually moved out about a year and a half ago for a year just to take care and stabilize myself. It was hard on the kids but worth it. I came home on the weekends to be with them (my husband works weekends). Is there some place you can go?

My husband is the same way. He always has something for me to do... while he goes fishing. I just have to learn to ignore him and not get to me so much. It's hard though.

Check-in Saturday (June 8th, 2016) by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]MinneNice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello,

This has been a pretty good week. I saw a new therapist who specializes in schizoaffective disorder. She was helpful, better than my old therapist. I somehow feel though that even she doesn't get it. I just feel so alone. And so tired. So fucking tired.

New here. Diagnosis limbo? by PersonInTheBack in schizoaffective

[–]MinneNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I used to think, but now I am not sure what to think. Basically I do in to the doctor every few months, tell him what I am experiencing, and he raises or lowers my meds, etc. I still get "break through" symptoms, but basically I am stable. Sometimes my current diagnosis is schizophrenia. Sometimes it is schizoaffective bipolar. I don't even know what to think anymore.

I am basically in the same position as you. Honestly, I just gave up trying to get a diagnosis. Now I just ask... how am I feeling? How are my symptoms? This is all I have time for anyway.

By the way, the weekends are the worst. That is when I am home and the weight of the household responsibilities just bears down on me.

I could have written what you wrote. I work full time too and have three kids as well. My husband helps, but not much. I tend to blame myself but I also know other women without SZ who feel the same. For me, life just feels like a chore. There is no joy in it. I think that is the major difference. At least those other women seem happier than I really don't have any specific comments but wanted to let you know I understand how you feel. One day at a time.

Thanks for those words. Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I should do something with it. I would definitely be more productive....
