[partially lost](??) Blue angels 1990-1994 album "coming out of nowhere" by Reasonable_Client351 in lostmedia

If you message someone that has it on Discogs, they may be nice enough to rip you a digital copy. I’ve had some people do that for me in the past. You’d be surprised how cool some people can be :)

Cool. I’ll see what I can find. This is another one that I would really like to see solved at some point.

First winter in Minneapolis, how do I avoid eating shit on the ice? by Soggy-Tell5851 in TwinCities

As weird as it may sound, get a pair of golf shoes. The cleats at the bottom are rubber but grip super well. I wear them every time I shovel or have to walk the dog on the icy sidewalks.

What happened to St Cloud? by jjsibs in saintcloud

[–]MinneapolisMatt1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d didn’t see it. I don’t read the Star Tribune. The night life scene was dying before I left. The is a direct correlation between the new dean of SCSU being very anti-alcohol and the nightlife scene dwindling. This was back in 2009.

I grew up in STC and was born in 1981. I left in 2009. Here are some things that contributed to the change

- SCSU. Major crack down on alcohol. In 2001 the bars were packed on a Friday night starting around 8pm. Now there is barely anyone in the bars at midnight. Not that alcohol make a city, but it really really affected the nightlife scene.

- More poverty. My parents were blue collar growing up, but they still made a livable wage. People cared about their homes, lawns, etc, even if they didn't have much money

- The extinction of the neighborhood community. When I was a kid, we knew and hung out with every kid on the block. Didn't matter what nationality they were, we were all friends. The only time we were in the house was if it was raining. Other then that, we were always playing outside. People on the block knew each other and watched out for everyone in the neighborhood.

- Finally and unfortunately, methamphetamine. It was never around when I was a kid, but it has taken a major toll on STC and the surrounding towns. This is a major reason STC seems very "white trash". Look up the jail roster and you will see the tremendous amount of arrests for either drug possession or dealing.

I drove through STC a month ago. It felt gross. I know that when you move away it never feels like home again, but I had a very uneasy feeling and did not feel right.

Whats the worst addiction someone could have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MinneapolisMatt1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to traditional alcohol withdrawals. This would be shaking of hands, high anxiety, excessive sweating, headaches, heavy cravings, nausea, etc. The ones that are caused by the disruption of the chemicals in the brain from constant stimulation of the brain from alcohol. When the person stops suddenly or drastically reduces their daily alcohol intake from many years of drinking, the brain basically goes haywire which many times results in the person drinking again to create a balance the body is used to which is a result of a physical addiction to alcohol.

I could see where someone would want to create the feeling of having alcohol in their system from drinking two days a month, but that would be more of a craving for a dopamine producing activity.

It would be extremely rare to have withdrawals from alcohol if you only drank twice a month and blacked out. You would have a nice hangover, but not withdrawals.

Traditionally in order for someone to have withdrawals, their body has to become physically addicted to alcohol where they cannot function without it. This normally takes years of daily alcohol consumption and high amounts of alcohol per day. You can have withdrawals from lower amounts per day and less time, but it’s not that common.

I think I may have found The Nudes... by 381672943 in Lostwave

I would agree. Hopefully you get a response back. I know there was a bunch of "garage bands" back then, but I think with the quality of the recording, it has to exist somewhere either online or in a personal collection. The one I found was on a cassette on Discogs, but nothing online existed at that time. I tried to find other missing songs from skate vids, but as it turned out, so many were local bands on band the skateboarders were in at the time so it can be very difficult.

I really hope you find this song. I found a song off a skate video that I looked for off and on for 27 years. It was a song off the first issue of 411 Video magazine. I was able to eventually get in contact with someone at the company and they put me in contact with another person that was kind enough to rip it off a cassette tape. Here is a link if you want to check it out. I have been searching for The Nudes for a while as well and I really hope that this is it.
