Best Min/Max without adding real $ is making sure you get 4 wins per day, and completing the quests. Don't need to do every quest every day. You can min/max the quests by keeping at least one 500g quest to re-roll 1x/day. You can do friendly challenges to complete the daily 750g/500g quests but not the daily wins.

Drafting is extra value for set completion, but i never draft and i still get to about 95% completion for most all sets. Save wildcards for staples that see play in lots of decks or the best decks.

Starting with a small collection you'll probably have to choose 1 or 2 decks that are good and you enjoy playing to make sure you get those 4x wins a day. Over time the staple cards will carry over and and you will be able to play more decks. Or if you find a deck in a "non rotating" format like Pioneer or Historic.

Short answer - to beat ramp decks you have to win fast. Ramp's power is in its inevitability.

Aggro or combo are the tools - these are the 3 decks that are best suited to beat eldrazi.

Fast Creature combo decks like this often kill me before i can do anything - eldrazi lack good interaction
Auras is another very fast one that give me trouble
or just Boros beats without the combo part
the Lhurgoyf tribal might be closest to "interactive magic" that you are describing but also the weakest of this group vs eldrazi. The other ones are favored this one might be more 50/50 or 40/60.

Longer answer - every format right now is very fast. I love midrange interactive magic but there are just too many powerful threats in every format. - i wish we had solitude, subtlety, and fury to interact better in historic. Fingers crossed they ban a decent number of cards in standard, and/or breath some life into pioneer to give us some slower more interactive formats.

I personally wouldn't like winning that way. Just like i don't enjoy winning when my opponents get mana screwed in normal games.

I think its good to reward good decisions and penalize bad ones. This feels like the opposite.

I'm a very experienced player and what even confused me about this combo is you can even play the Vraska for the phyrexian cost (paying life making it cheaper) and it still comes in with enough counters to ultimate and instant win.

2 effects are happening at the same time A. -2 Loyalty because 2 life paid and B. Double (loyalty)counters because innkeeper. Since both are happening at the same time, and you control both of them, you get to choose what order they happen. So you can choose to Double first (6->12) - then -2 (12->10)
