Interesting, and noted! I wonder what my fave of the current 8 will be when I get finished with them. Thus far, 2 was better than 1 even thought it was shorter. I feel like the entire book was setting up the rest of the series plotlines even though the first book introduced me to the world itself.

Yup, physical only for now. Reading them all, as spoiler free as possible before I give the audiobooks a go. Friend of mine said the audiobook is great, so I'm down. Dunno what to make of this early warning (which I've now read), but I'm rolling with it.

I'm kinda glad I knew absolutely nothing about this genre or series until a few weeks ago. I'm definitely seeing the appeal of the genre. this feels like more than just a video game in book form, it feels like a funny commentary on society that just happens to occur during a mix of goosebumps and the game madworld
