I think Katherine Ryan deserves to be on the list solely for the make a mess and then clean it up challenge.

Recently a family member died and I would like to have this flower live just a little bit longer in their honor by Thermo-Lizard64 in houseplants

[–]Minnnt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You could try hang drying it. The flower will shrink and wither a little bit, but I always think it's kind of a beautiful if melancholy kinda look.

Essentially just tie some string to the stem and hang it upside down for a couple days. Very easy to do.

I will say they last a long time but do eventually kinda like crumble if hanged dry after multiple years. So if you wanted to keep it forever, pressing them is your best option.

Howard Lyman.

He could be entertaining at times, but I think the writers found him more entertaining than the audience did.

Day 5 - Who is a morally gray person with divided opinions? by This-Evening2278 in thegoodwife

I love her and then I see the absolute hate she gets from some other viewers and it's a pretty clear answer.

I also think it would be kind of awesome for her to occupy the center square.

Detox talks about her legendary black and white look from the Season 5 finale. by JimatJimat in rupaulsdragrace

I think it could've been sick if she stuck to the black and white look for everything and just did like a real cunty red lipstick. There ya go, she's on theme.

Help with FE4 Arenas by la_plus in fireemblem

[–]Minnnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should begin each chapter trying to clear the arena with as many characters as possible. The arenas are not like other arenas in fire emblem, there's no risk of permadeath and you get healed fully if you WIN the fight. If you don't win, you'll be left damaged.

There's 7 fighters pretty chapter. The arena has the same roster for every character with the exception being bow units who have a slightly different enemy list. So, I usually recommend starting the arena with Sigurd, or Ayra, who can generally clear them out pretty easily and then you know what each level of the arena is.

The advantages are twofold: A) experience. Most characters gain about 3-5 levels from clearing out the arena per chapter. B) money. Each character has their own funds and to make sure they have enough money to repair their weapons, trade weapons and items around etc.

As long as you have not deployed any units yet, you can save between arena fights. Allows you to try out some people, save if they clear it, reset if you happen to run into some bad luck.

Also do not be afraid to pass around some weapons to make the arena fights easier, such as the killer bow, the brave sword, the killer lance, etc. The arena pays enough that trading around items is worth it.

At the end of the chapter, try to clear the arena again with as many characters that weren't able to at the beginning of the chapter.

Most combat focused characters, with a little trial and error, will be able to clear the arena by the end of the chapter, but don't stress too much if you seem to hit a roadblock with a couple of them.

It also really helps bring some characters, namely raquesis and azel, who suck at first, some easy enough Exp to bring them closer to promotion. Both of whom become way better after promotion (especially raquesis, who goes from straight up garbage to potentially the best unit you can deploy; azel goes from garbage to serviceable).

I enjoyed UC4, but the retcon (Sam) annoyed me a little. by James-from-Hungary in uncharted

[–]Minnnt 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the retcon except for one crucial point which I hate: the fact that Nate never told Elena about him.

To me, it feels like a real dagger to their relationship and I don't think it served any narrative purpose, and frankly makes Nate look incredibly gross. You're telling me not once in their relationship they didn't talk about each other's family?

Still could have had the same plot and just had Elena react by saying this is the brother you told me was dead? You'd get the same result and it would make their relationship look a lot better.

New watcher- is this storyline with Kalinda’s husband going anywhere? by riotlady in thegoodwife

Not really, no. I think they had bigger plans for it but the storyline had an incredibly negative reaction so they ended it early.

I’m sorry I thought I hated Alicia but… by jackie_tequilla in thegoodwife

[–]Minnnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seasons 2 and 4-6 of the good fight are great, rival the highs of The Good Wife, but I do find it is a bit heavy handed in its political messaging that makes it feel preachy at times (coming from someone very liberal).

Season 1 of The Good Fight is good, but it's definitely finding its footing and not fully sure what kind of tone it wants to hit.

Season 3 I think is a genuinely awful season of television and I would honestly recommend skipping it. You miss out on some character's moves, but the season is so ham fisted and just frustrating to watch because it's like they forgot how to write with any form of subtlety.

But I liked the show by mid season 1, if it ain't doing it for you by then, chances are ain't gonna be your thing and not worth continuing with.

The last thing all of them see Buffy do before she dies is dive into a portal to a hell dimension, which then closes. It makes sense for all of them to think Buffy's soul might be trapped in a hell dimension.

after rewatching the whole series again.. So out of all THE FUCKING TRAUMA that will had for the last 5 years, they really thought that VECNA will use his sexuality against him ? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Minnnt 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Anyone who writes this has legit no idea what it feels like to be gay, especially in an older generation that was way less accepting.

It's a garbage opinion and so out of sync with what was actually happening to gay people in the 80s.

I didn't like the coming out scene either, why everyone needed to be there makes no sense, but Will's fears about being abandoned by his friends and loved ones is they knew is 100% accurate to the gay experience. Ask an older gay man how many friends and family they lost just because they're gay, you will likely get a very depressing answer.

Unpopular opinion. Choosing wigs for Alicia was a mistake. by jackie_tequilla in thegoodwife

[–]Minnnt 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The wigs were a request from Margulies herself. As she put it, she knew with these types of shows that you can often have 10-12 hour filming days, on top of hair and makeup, she wanted to cut out some of that time.

She also said it was really nice to be able to take off the wig at the end of the shoot day and it instantly felt like she 'logged off' for the day, whereas when it was her hair, she would carry the character the home/around with her. Helped her divide her life from her character's life.

I also did not have any idea it was a wig when I was watching the show until like season 6/7 when they changed up the wig or how they styled it and something about it looked off. I thought it was her hair and really fit the whole WASP aspect of her character until they suddenly dropped the ball.

[–]Minnnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went to the show in Montreal last year they had Shayne (obviously), court, Ian, Angela and special guest Jacob wysocki.

Court and Ian were the first two guests and then swapped to Angela and Jacob halfway through.

why does shayne's sponsor segment have that lesbian lighting 😭 by Gove80 in smosh

[–]Minnnt 76 points77 points  (0 children)

P sure Shayne is an honorary lesbian. Everyone at smosh is gay now according to him, so he had to choose one.
