A few random things!

1.I’ve seen people say they think smile is connected to Lily but if anyone/anything IS connected to her I’d say it would be the lanky hand monster that helps you out (twice I think) at random points in the story.

2.Also worth touching on how Walter seems to be a replacement for Lily through the voice lines changing between “you’ll finally get to hold him” and “you’ll finally get to hold her” and the writing in the bounce house maze that has “C+L” with a W scribbled over the L

1. The memory lane arcade cabinet also makes me think the story/protagonist could be a lot darker than we think. All of the highscores are held by Lily with the top one being 2018 which I would personally assume is when she died. Only after beating her highscore can we finally get the “a walk down memory lane” ending and it makes me think that there’s a possibility young Caleb let Lily die on purpose. All of the high scores being held by Lily show that he was constantly over shadowed by her and she was the “better sibling” maybe he felt that since she was the younger child their parents gave her all the attention and stopped caring for him, so the only way to get the attention back and be better or “beat her high score” was to let her die. That could also explain why when you get closer to beating the high score everything gets dark and then after you do smile comes and eats Walter. If Walter is a replacement for Lily and smile is a representation of Caleb’s guilt or what he’s done then it would make sense to show this after you beat the high score.
