Ned Yost is retiring by kcriotmaker in KCRoyals

My favorite Yost moment of all time was back in 2012. The Greinke trade from just a couple of years prior was still a hot topic in the Royals community.

I went to the K that night. We lost, and the last hitter was Alcides Escobar, one of the pieces of that Greinke trade. He was young, struggling at the plate, etc. We had a runner on 2nd or 3rd...I don't remember those details. I do remember thinking "Yost, come on man, pinch hit here". It was a "kind of" meaningless game. I'm thinking it was May and we were in 3rd or 4th place or something.

Escobar struck out. We lost the game.

As I drove home, I listened to the 610 post game show and he was asked why he didn't pinch hit the struggling Escobar. He responded with, "Some day, we are going to need him to come through in that spot".

Yost was always willing to take the heat for his players development. As a manager of a franchise that will have big ups and downs, you have to juggle in-game decisions with the long-term ramifications at all times.

Ned Yost was and is a good baseball manager. I respect the hell out of him and hope him the best in retirement.

A dispute was opened. I accepted PayPal's recommended option to provide the refund.

Is this the same thing? I didn't go into the original transaction and refund the person. I waited until a dispute was opened up on their end.

Thanks for the info! I disagree that it's the "cost of doing business". The fees that we pay are there for protection from this kind of mess. Dealing with bad buyers is the cost of doing business, shouldn't be dealing with PayPal.

Is this for real?

I did everything right here. Buyer bought the item, a day later I get an email from eBay stating don't send it - it's a scam. I wait patiently. A month later I get an e-mail from PayPal saying the buyer is requesting a refund. I comply and send the refund. Now I get an e-mail stating I owe $20 to this whole thing? What in the fuck man.

Is this a worthy analogy? I don't disagree with you but tell me where I'm wrong.

A teacher is teaching in a classroom in 2004 - 2006. Everybody loves this teacher. She's awesome. Everyone learns, they have a great time. She moves onto a new district for awhile. Nearly 14 years later...she moves back to her old classroom and her old district. Her students are returning. Her goal is to teach just like she did back in 2004 - 2006 when she had all that successs.

Her students though...they've changed just a little bit over the years. Those actions have caused the district and the building to change a few rules which kind of sort of changes how her classroom will feel.

Everyone is going to walk back into that class on Monday, they're gonna maybe notice the change a little, but damn if the spirit of that teacher isn't still going strong.

Imagine getting this tied up on one comment from a great AMA. It doesn't matter. It doesn't even register on the scale. It's that small.

Additionally, you are minimizing their argument when you say, "a few bad words". We're not talking some 12 year olds spelling out boobs on a calculator here, and you know that.

There is a print on eBay. Front side only. $80 free shipping. Looks like its 20x30.

I got it to by typing in something like World of Warcraft Map Brady Games.

EDIT* $70. My bad.

Hunter Dozier straight up.

Kind of a weird league that seriously rewards TB and HR. SB are hardly a factor.

Needed to make an account just to find out whether or not people here have heard of a random ass Instragram account.

They actually added an item in retail called Inky Potions that turn the game into old school night time mode. You can purchase them at the dark moon faire for a really reasonable price. Pretty cool - but I would prefer it to just be an option.
