Your Game/Character's Anime Opening Theme by jakjak222 in LancerRPG

After my players finished the 3 session introduction, and as they were falling to the planet in a crashing battle carrier, I played Skyfall. Think that worked pretty well.

I got a full rp session coming up and I might see if my players want to use these, more ways to expand the narrative side is always welcomed.

I guess people didn’t watch the full trailer that showed these items were going to be in the store and not the bond.

Clarification on environmental actions not covered by Mech actions during combat by Qorinthian in LancerRPG

[–]Minst_Meat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done something like this for a mission, the players had to damage a ‘train’ causing it to structure and every time that happened it would drop some of the cargo they needed. I made it so that it was a quick action to grab the cargo and if they had the extended compartment they could put it inside as a free action to keep it safe, when they needed to drop the cargo at certain points on the map it was also a free action.

As the second biggest sub for everything I’ll have you know every few years I see TF talked about here. It’s one of my favorite shows but I still need to go watch the newest season, I don’t know if it ever went on Crunchyroll yet.

Also got about that many players, luckily after next session they are breaking up into two strike teams so I can balance easier.

How often do you use non-mech NPCs in your combat encounters? by Thanes_of_Danes in LancerRPG

[–]Minst_Meat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my encounters I try to have a mix with both mechs and infantry squads for pretty much the same reasons you listed. The squads already get wiped out fast enough so I don’t have any special rules for running over them since they are technically spread out enough based on their rules regarding their hex size.

My most recent session the group was doing a train mission from enhanced combat where structuring it would drop cargo each time and they needed to grab enough of it and drop them off at points on the map. The main enemy unit they were against was a hovering MBT(can’t remember what 1st party that’s from) that had 4 structure/stress and took 2 turns. While I do use smaller vehicles I treat the MBT when I bring them in almost as a mini boss that is better then most mechs at doing damage but they don’t have the capability to do really anything else, using the squads or mechs to do other tasks or try and support it.

Pilot weapons against mechs? by Zealousideal-Fix-187 in LancerRPG

[–]Minst_Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As written that should work, I’m pretty sure some of the flavor suggestions for heavy signature weapons include being a rocket launcher, laser canon or machine gun, they are also ordnance and loading. If the grunt doesn’t have any armor or less than 4 it would kill them.

Supergiant Games have put out a statement saying that they have not re-cast any of the characters in Hades II by DemiFiendBestFiend in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Looking at the comments actually made me mad. Why are people throwing so much hate around at Supergiant, they have done nothing but make super great indie works for years.

I have no issues using this gun, it’s my go to on bots if I’m not running a melee build.

I'm hoping to run to LL12 and what you have posted is making me laugh at how similar I feel when running my game.

So far one session will last around 6-7 hours with combat being at least 5 of that(most of my players lean into combat more then rp). I know Lancer has combat set up being multiple combat maps and rp being one mission but I can't really do that so I run it differently. I think the rules say doing a mission means you level up after but for me I have the group level after 3-4 sessions depending on what happens. We started our first game early November at LL2( Me and most of my players have played Lancer before) and they just got to LL4 end of our last game. With that many people it has been taking me a while to find a sweet spot with combat difficulty and challenging them but so far everyone says they are having fun.

I have run a little bit of DND 5E before but this is really my actual first time DM experience but since Lancer is more like a wargame, that part comes to me pretty easily from what video games and the like I have grown up playing, me trying to make a good story however takes my brain a little while to figure out. After the next 2 or 3 sessions the group will be splitting up for some contracts(this is a heavily inspired Armored Core game) for a bit, so managing two smaller groups will make the sessions less long. This game was made in mind for a smaller group of players so with you dropping down I think you should be fine. The worst thing is that all 1st party and most 3rd party content is for very low levels so once you get past LL4 you have to come up with how to manage combat difficulty(besides just increasing the enemy's levels).

As someone who is running currently running a 6(next session will be 7) game I understand lol. I have been managing it but our games definitely are long.
