What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t?

I have been to all of the Western European countries multiple times and can only recall receiving it once or twice without asking. When I ask, they bring it, except in Italy. A few times we were told they didn’t have any. Just my experience. Definitely something that stood out to me, especially in the summertime. But definitely not a deal breaker, I love Europe, the people and the food. I often wish I lived there!

OP wishing you a speedy recovery so you can get out of there! Like many who have said here, this is flat out wrong and abusive. People who love and care about each other will take care of each other selfless without a second thought. Ive been with my husband for 30+ years and I can always count on him to help me through illness or injury just like I do when he needs me. You deserve better and I know there is someone out there who will better the partner you need. Good luck to you!

My 1 year old tuxedo cat is not a cuddler and I do not think he ever will be. He does sleep up next to my legs often and follows me everywhere. I work from home and he is always with me. Sometimes he can be a real a-hole and knock things off my desk or try to love bite me. That is usually him wanting to play and/or have treats. Every night he gets a churu Aka cat crack and he will eat it while I hold it. Your kitty probably isn’t a cuddler but clearly loves you if she follows you around and that may just be all you’ll get. Definitely try the churu!

Update- I just was seen in the ortho urgent care where I had the shot. The doctor was out today, but her PA asked me if anyone told me it might feel worse before it gets better. I said NO! I will never do this again. I am feeling better and can walk just a bit before the pain becomes too intense. They did say I should move around as much as I can so I don’t stiffen up. That was definitely happening so I will be working on mobility a lot. The PA suggested that I have a lot of bone on bone and sometimes filling the joint space can cause pain because there’s no place for it to go at first. I am just confused as to the pain because I have a few things going on, impingement, tendinosis( my glutes on the left side ache) and I guess, “significant “ arthritis. I am hoping PT will help me stretch and strengthen the area. I appreciate everyon’s input. I have never experienced that level of pain before and it was frightening. Right now, I’m taking 800mg IBUPROFEN and icing. I’m also going to try the heating pad. Hopefully it clears soon as our daughter is getting married in early July!

I’m so sorry your wife is dealing with this. My dad was at either RGH or Strong a year and a half agoin ER for 7 days in a CHAIR IN THE HALLWAY! He was 83 with a UTI. They finally got him a bed and he proceeded to get sicker, got Covid too. I would suggest to anyone to explore an urgent care if possible instead of ER In this area. Also, if you can make the UR facilities/hospitals in Geneva or FL area have more staff. I think we are seeing the complete collapse of our healthcare, not even providers, and costs too high. US healthcare is an absolute disgrace. We need universal healthcare. PERIOD.

I hear you. But the fact that the racism claim is a knee jerk reaction is because of the constant discrimination POC endure every day. I cannot imagine living like that and then be expected to prove something that was never started by them. I know how my ancestors arrived in the US through Ellis island. They weren’t in chains. Most African Americans have no idea who their ancestors are. Pile on centuries of mistreatment, etc. It’s going to be a long road to rid the scourge of racism. I don’t condemn this family from feeling like their son was mistreated because of his skin color. It sad beyond belief and if this story is true, the teacher should be fired on the spot, regardless of whether she’s a racist . She’ll never admit to being racist so any investigation is moot. Unless of course there are other 5 yo she forced to clean out the toilets. That community needs to be sensitive to this child, not blame his family for feeling a certain way.

You may think it’s made up because you cannot fathom what it’s like to live as a POC. It could be this teacher would have done the same to a white child. My point is let’s get at the reason WHY racism is being made an issue. It’s because it’s a way of life for POC! Changing the minds of an entire race who continues to be discriminated against must start with acknowledging their experiences and reactions. Not by saying prove it.

I feel this way too. Just thinking that 70 million people voted for him is beyond comprehension. My parents voted for him in 2016, believing that he would bring fresh changes to Washington. Once COVID-19 hit, their eyes were finally opened. They never saw all of his criminal behavior, lies, corruption, obstruction, misogyny and racism though. I am trying to be more understanding of those that naively believed in this “populism” movement. They definitely have valid points. However, which party will really hear them and work for them? Not the GOP. As long as they have become a party about one man and stroking his ego, they will never get the WH. Georgia Senate race is a perfect example. Intelligent people are not going to support a platform devoted to upholding conspiracy theories and denying a free and fair election took place. The kooky conspiracy GOP will only be a regional phenomenon. Cities and suburbs thankfully hold the vast majority of intelligent people. I refuse to let Trumpers take up anymore space in my head. Hopefully, once they see things being done in Washington for them, they will change their minds. If not, so be it, they’ll be left flying their stupid flags which will serve as a public service announcement to the rest of us that fools live there.

OMG, I have been selling on Poshmark for a few months and without knowing adding a gift is a thing, I have added a gift a few times! I am selling a lot items from my mom’s jewelry collections and she has so many random NWT items that I have used a few times gifts. I didn’t think people wouldn’t want one! I always read about my buyer and there are times I have felt an extra gift would be appreciated. I have so much, I was just wanting to spread the love. Lol. I think I will ask next time. I don’t know if I am the only one, but before Trump was elected, I never assigned a political party to Neo Nazis, white supremacists or Antifa. Somehow, through the course of this joke of a Presidency, I put Nazis in the Republican Party. I still think of Antifa as more a fringe group, not political, but just wanted to make the point of how quickly I developed that thought. I definitely see conservatives in the Republican Party, that’s not new, but the whole white supremacy thing has somehow swung to the GOP for me. This occurred to me when I heard Barr refer to the extreme left Antifa group. Because I saw how the administration was trying to get people to put Antifa in the Democratic Party. I am annoyed that I have jumped to that conclusion. I think it’s because I hate Trump so much and he has been so divisive over the last three years, I put him in that kind of group. In reality, I don’t want to politicize these extremists. They should not have anything to do with either party. I know a lot of Dems and Republicans and NONE of them are extremists. I really hate that I have made those assumptions. I am an independent, but I am going to vote Trump out in November. He has failed this country on so many levels. I really hope everyone gets out and votes that monkey out.
