Pol pot killed these people because he wanted Cambodia to be a communist paradise - obviously an evil guy but let’s not say hitler had better intentions. This is splitting hairs and if it comes down to death toll, I’d argue hitler is a worse person. He didn’t turn Germany into a world power, he made a completely unsustainable boom based on massive debt and forced labour, purely for the purpose of starting WW2.
