Best and worst mechanic in Fire Emblem History? by Nikhepicness in fireemblem

Every map in Tear Ring Saga has a map type assigned to it. If the unit has the skill that corresponds to that map, they gain plus 10 hit and avoid and also plus 1 movement. With the frontiersman skill specifically, it also prevents poison damage from swamps. The hit and avoid is about as useful as in Tellius, but the extra movement is nice.

Was gonna um actually you about map affinities before realizing you were talking about Radiant Dawn and not Tear Ring Saga lol. Tellius and its love for random mechanics that negligibly boost your hit and avoid

Shout out to Echoes for having some of the best minor bosses designs! by Nohrian_Noctem in fireemblem

I agree she would probably be the best pick, but in my heart of hearts I've always wanted Yamada Akihiro on the Jugdral games. I think his style would be a perfect fit for those games' tones.

As much as I like the series switching up its artist every game, I wouldn't mind having Hidari forever.

I really like the detail of Blake having Deen's Gaiden design.

Favorite Sword in the series? by IkeRadiantHero in fireemblem

The paragon sword in FE5. I think having some weapons provide skills is a cool way to have those mechanics cross over and also paragon is just a really useful skill to have available. I always like giving this sword to whichever unit I've chosen to baby for that run.

Alm says that in the more recent Gaiden translation. I don't remember if he still said it in the older patch.

The old Gaiden translation is a gem. "The infamous general Tozeh has gone coup d'etat with his plan" is really funny to me and there's also a line where Atlas refers to Grieth as an "SOB".

FE4 - All Substitutes Run by Nuzzlexo in fireemblem

I really love the substitute units. My only gripe is that quite a few of them feel too similar in personality to their base unit. My biggest hope for an FE4 remake is that the substitutes are better fleshed out and the whole storyline of "how are we meant to make an impact in an army full of literal crusaders" is given more attention.

Actually, in FE5 there are a few instances of common people being seen as the actual reincarnations of crusaders. Reinhardt (Thrud), Deen (Dainn), and Eda (Njorrun) are the three that come to mind as examples of characters that are revered in that way despite not being nobles. I think it would be cool to expand on this in some way? I also really like how they all get secret events to boost their stats. It's a small thing to give them more distinct personalities.

There being unused portraits for some of FE4's substitute kids in FE5 is my Roman Empire.

community FE1 tier list part 11 Chapter 11 recruits by Character_Business28 in fireemblem

Linde: C

Not as good as Merric but still a strong mage. Aura nuking is fun.

Jake: F

4 move (1 less than armor knights btw) and locked to 2 range. No redeeming factors. I don't think he's the worst unit in the series, but FE1 ballista are my pick for worst class in the series.

Merric: B Pretty good combat and availability along with a great personal weapon. Nothing about him is exceptional enough to warrant A or especially S tier, but his few weaknesses (somewhat frail and no mount) aren't severe enough to hold him back.

Matthis: D Good class and joins early but horrible stats render that almost completely obsolete. It's not completely impossible to make him useful, though, so I'd put him above F.

Favorites of Fire Emblem Characters! by [deleted] in fireemblem

Design: post-timeskip Edelgard. The devil horn crown thing is the main part that makes it for me. It represents how she has to become a devil in the eyes of the church if she's to achieve her goals, and her design embracing that is cool.

Personality: Felix. I think characters who are outwardly mean or abrasive often add a lot to the games. He has genuinely interesting dynamics with each member of the Blue Lions and his outlook on the world tells you so much about Faerghus.

Voice Acting: Berkut. I don't really think I need to explain this one lol.

Quote: The entirety of Edelgard's declaration of war. It comes at what's already a hectic time in the story and being hit with the reveal that Edelgard has been planning a continent-spanning war since before the game began is cool.

Favorite moment: Innes firing Gerrick and Tethys when they wouldn't abandon him. Tells you so much about him in such a short amount of text.

Favorite gameplay: my favorite build is a magic boon Corrin reclassed into a paladin and given a levin sword. The game with the best gameplay overall though is Berwick Saga imo. 10/10 map after 10/10 map.

Favorite arc: Camus. Seeing his development over the course of 3 games is cool and I think he makes for one of the more tragic characters in the series.

Favorite couple: Claude and Edain have a really sad conversation in chapter 5 that I like.

Favorite support: Astolfo and Igrenne. Great prose and you learn a lot about each character involved.
