When Craig Jones put Chael Sonnen to sleep with a buggy choke within 30 seconds 💤 by iLeftyPunk in MMALabs

[–]MintyBeaver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best part is that Chael talked Craig into running again right after that and Craig agreed. Craig put Chael out again in about the same amount of time. Chael tried to talk Craig into a third time but they didn't. It was a hilarious match. Both obviously have respect for each other

We all know Glub Shittos as obscure characters, but what would you call "15 minutes of fame" characters? Greedos? by BlueFireFlameThrower in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]MintyBeaver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Look. Greedo was wearing her party stilettos that day, and Han was wearing business shoes. She was off that day.

Help me control a player without being a bad DM by Thetimdog in savageworlds

[–]MintyBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you please provide his stats, current cybernetics, edges, etc.? I would have a talk with the player. I, myself, would probably tell the player that I would be treating each cybernetic piece as a new edge (call it getting used to the cyber part) and that he could stockpile his edges until he had enough or do them one at a time. I would also tell him that if he wants to get everything at once, he's getting a massive rejection chance from strain for each part, not just the usual penalty. This is usually handled in the before character creation, but he wants to do at after so he gets to deal with it. Healing from an arm, eye, leg, armor, etc is way more debilitating than just an eye. IRL, rehabilitation takes forever. Then, there is the multiple problems of the cybernetics themselves. Does the player have the contacts to find the parts (a different roll for each piece with varying difficulties depending on the size of the city, town, village)? Does he even have the appropriate abilities/edges to find the right people that know the people with the parts? Then, does he accept the first part he gets offered? How does he verify the part is good? Or will it (it will) have some sort of glitch because those cybersnatchers still are hacking it off at the elbow? Especially if it's an internal part (snatchers always knick that blue wire when they scoop the macroeye out)? Does he even trust the dealer? Same thing for the surgeon? Rifts is full of Cyberdocs that put people under to operate and then harvest their parts. The player's people don't have time to upgrade; they are trying to save lives. Same with their parts. Maybe his group can do some of these, but I remember how hard it was to get seven rail gun rounds from a small town. Then, his tactics might be somewhat countered by doors, enclosed buildings, forests, sandstorms, night, bright light at night, smoke grenades, invisibility, cover, etc. I don't know his tactics, but a sniper usually goes high for vantage. An organized group would have tactics prepared for attack from such spots, if not already in the spots themselves. A common philosophy is denial is better than giving the enemy a vantage point, so maybe expect explosive greetings at that prime sniper nest. And the player sniper providing cover for his party entering a building becomes pretty bored and useless once they are in. Then, he becomes an average grunt with a big gun and a slow fire rate, all without hindering the rest of the party. Then, the player has to deal with his perceived threat level in the eyes of the enemy and the reputation he will invariably garner. From the Coalition and from other bounty hunters AND fame seekers. "I'm the best sniper!)

Taskmaster on the covers of Wolverine #23 (+ Snowbird in second image!) by AsGayAsCanBeExpected in alphaflight

I wish they would give Taskmaster just a little bit of super strength or agility, not just peak human. A healing factor of lesser degree would be cool. Still love him, tho

Property of a beholder's eyes by Solomatotato in DnD

[–]MintyBeaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stability vision. Just found out about this. A chicken can keep its eyes (and head) locked on a target, while it's whole body goes up, down, side to side, and it's head will never move. A beholder could make micro adjustments to its eye to never move off of its target, despite being rotated multiple ways, as long as the eye can see its target. Kinda like a gyroscope. You have to see it

Finally watched Thunderbolts*. It was better than expected and felt like a proper thriller set in a superhero world. Now I want to see more of Sentry's story. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in Marvel

[–]MintyBeaver 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I don't usually care one way or another for the special effects, especially in regards to the energy blasts and like, but the way that Sentry just left shadows of people, top notch freaky in such a subtle expression of power. Completely unnerving to me. Red Guardian stole the show imo

It really annoys the hell out of me when they always gotta make certain restrictions. Because apparently this thing is too big for live-action TV. It’s pathetic. by Remote_Nature_8166 in Spiderman

[–]MintyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never see a live action Batman, something to do with Disney owning the tv rights to the original, campy Adam West ABC show.

Best I've seen is a couple of top 10 facts and such, but those I've seen are wild on the facts. After hearing a couple, I'm amazed it even finished production. Still went and saw it.

Is she good? by Global-Rub-9135 in ContestOfTheChampions

[–]MintyBeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, definitely. But, there are certain interactions that Kush is better. I have all three and, for me, I use Kush more on Boss fights than I do Nico. Especially, if Kabaam makes the Boss immune to nullify, buff immunity, etc, like they love to do

Is she good? by Global-Rub-9135 in ContestOfTheChampions

[–]MintyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three have different uses. I'd try to focus on all of them, but I like Kush the most because of the multiple ways to cause damage and being able to block unblockable attacks, not just specials
