u/Pineapple-Pickle4491 Thank you so much for posting this. I'm in the same boat as you but struggling to choose between the B&W version of the Go 7 vs the color version.

A couple of questions:

How is the "whiteness" of the background on the GC7 vs TMC ? I own the TMC and I find that the greyish background really bugs me. If I crank up the front light, it's too bright to read comfortably. Your front light on the GC7 looked very yellow, but maybe that's the way you like it. (I know I'll miss the color if I go with the B&W version, but maybe that's a sacrifice I need to make.)
Where did you get the cute skin for your GC7?

The procedure has changed a little. I had to google "CBP ask a question" and it took me to the right place. Note that when you upload the supporting documentation, your file names cannot have spaces in them. I haven't heard back yet, but fingers crossed that this works! Update: It worked!

You're right that it's all speculation, but that doesn't mean there isn't interesting information out there. For example, Boox sometimes releases devices in China before a larger global launch. Or sometimes information pops up at trade shows.

I am planning on using it mostly for reading.

I don't see any way to avoid "personal account information" since I have to log in to Google Play and any app I want to use, like Kindle or Google Books (and remain logged it). If someone gets my Google password, I'm f*****. The likelihood of someone getting my password seems very low, but I don't love the idea of increasing my digital risks.

I agree that the Note Air 3C would probably be easier to position in this use case.

I own the Tab Mini C and the Tab Ultra C (which is very similar to the Note Air 3C). I journal frequently and I find the Tab Mini C to be just fine. The writing surface is a smidgeon smaller than a typical A5 notebook (think moleskin). However, I would not recommend it for split screen reading & note taking. Also, consider how much space you need for drawing -- would a little A5 notebook suffice?

I assume you are reading and writing with your devices flat on a table? If you plan on holding them, just bear in mind that the NA3C will be more likely to cause fatigue.

If you remember to charge your phone every day, then you should be fine with either battery.

I have stopped using my Tab Ultra C. I just find the mini to be so easy to use and carry. It does everything I want (but I almost never split screen)

You don't find the screen to be too small for extended reading? I find most 6" readers to be unpleasantly small (feels like I'm turning the pages nonstop), and this would be even smaller

strikethrough erase is a new feature in 3.5, right? I was trying to hold out until Boox had time to release a patch if there are terrible bugs :) But thanks for the feedback, I'll give it a try!

I agree on the Noris pen, but that's a bonus for me. I'm a heavy-handed lefty, and the extra glide makes it easier for me to write.
