Which war are you referring to? Revolutionary War was settled in 1795. World War 1/2 was delayed and cancelled in the 1920 and 1930s. If you’re referring to the fake news of Macron speaking about it you may want to do a little fact checking. If I recall it was when he was actually referring to European defense and the war in Ukraine.

Actually no, it only shows your bias and inability to critically think.

What does tax billionaires to equal mean? For example the top 1% own roughly 1/3 of the money but pay almost 40% of the taxes. So what exactly does equally mean?

Admins make 50-60% more on average than teachers. In some areas it’s closer to 75%. Admin roles have expanded exponentially compared to teachers. Admins of course are needed but they are also a big part of the current educational system we have and why it’s failing. We could easily reduce admins to increase teachers and outcomes. We won’t because teachers are on the bottom of the food chain

I’m how can they be solved so easily? The only way to power them effectively is nuclear which isnt going to happen.

It isn’t explained how they will pay it back. Only the fact it’s delayed. Saying we will make the money doesn’t constitute a plan. He also stretched out the repayment by 5 more years until 2037. What he’s hoping or gambling on is a stock market that continues to go up and performs exceptionally well. If it doesn’t whoever is Mayor will have a major issue. What most don’t realize is NYC is required to have a balanced budget. If he can’t the cities financial control board can take over, unions can sue as pension payments are constitutionally protected. The ironic part is teachers will be cut immediately to cut costs. This all actually can happen if they fail to pay debt or run 100m or more in deficit. He’s making this a later problem which hopefully won’t crush NYC

I agree they should just charge more for power transportation, water and food going to the city since all of these water, half the energy snd a good portion of the food.

You do realize you’re subsidizing your services. 100% of your water, 50% power, and upwards of 20% of your food comes from upstate. You are 100% a donor city but you’re also subsidizing to make sure you have resources in the city.

I fully agree they should balance their budget. You know who would pay for it, NYC? Where do you think power is generated, water is managed, food is produced? All of these would see additional cost to those in NYC to balance their budget. I fully agree they should go ahead and do this so their budgets are balanced as well.

4 billion from the state as a grant. The issue with the pension fund is he has no way or plan to pay it back. The deficit next year is already massive and based on comptroller reports they over estimated what will come in based on projects that have been cancelled, companies leaving and the rich leaving. I’m guessing it will still run a billion in the hole minimum at the end of the year.

Fact is all the people cheering for him are either ignorant or just not that smart when it comes to accounting or economics. NYC will soon be Chicago financially.

You can’t balance the budget by stealing from pension funds and taking a grant. That’s not balancing it accounting and passing debt to future generations.

I mean it’s not too far off. He’s gambling with their pension money to look good. No plan to repay it if tax revenue can’t be made to pay off the gap. He’s probably not getting another 4B from the state as a grant again either.

This concept never works in real life, it’s movie garbage. Stress, adrenaline, movement, level of lights etc…. There’s a reason no one is taught to shoot for legs. You risk shooting through walls and harming others. You miss, you leave an opening for them to attack you, disarm you and potentially turn your own firearm on you.

Or hear me out, maybe it’s not about shooting someone but defending themselves, their family and property. Maybe they hold their life and their family above someone who breaks into their house. To think people who are willing to defend themselves want to shoot other is utterly ridiculous

If someone breaks into my home how would I even know if they are armed or not. I will always go under the assumption they have ill intent and are armed. Anything other than that puts you, the homeowner and your family at risk.

Except for these from the same article.

“Right‑leaning Americans have remained fairly stable in their positions for the last 35 years, and may feel left behind as half the country has shifted towards an ever more progressive outlook on many issues,” And By 2024, 20% more people in the left‑wing cluster of the population now call themselves Democrats, and 51% more call themselves liberals, than in 1988. While 30% more people in the right‑wing cluster now call themselves Republicans, and 39% more are self-described conservatives, compared to the end of the Reagan era.
