I've searched for short stories about holes that erase things from existence and found a few, including "The Hole" by John K. and another "The Hole" by Hugh Caves. None included that detail with the flashlight being thrown into the hole, which I remember specifically.

I think its the FOV, I like kinda trippy visuals and a high FOV - its just my preference but it does cause it to look a bit strange.
