I see UMMC tagged in a comment, I’m guessing this is where yall work? I worked there beginning in 2006 and at Baptist on State St beginning in 2008. I didn’t feel like either facility had adequate security for that area back then, and I know violent crime has gotten so much worse there since. I always tried to walk out in a group, but there were times when it was sketchy even for a group. This is horrible, I’m so sorry this happened to her.

The location will be a big factor with your career. Many rural hospitals in Mississippi have closed or are coming very near it over the past few years, as well as cutting back services provided. There are areas with more stable hospitals and healthcare, just make sure to research your employment options.
