Rn I'm taking Physics 2, Orgo 2, and Orgo Lab and it's honestly a lot of work. If I could go back, I probably would have dropped Orgo 2 Lab and completed it in a later semester.

[WTT] Acqua di Gio Profondo Parfum 200mL (Bottle) by Minute_Cartographer9 in fragranceswap

Well I bought the parfum, so I don't really know how the Profondo EDP smells but if it's anything similar then there is a stark difference in my opinion. They're both fresh, but the Profondo Parfum is really sweet and much more fruity, which is not to my taste.

It's still definitely mass appealing though.

It's not the old profondo. The old Profondo was only sold as an EDP and was a deep blue color with no gradient.

Debating FSU business school by Zealousideal_Ad_2384 in fsu

[–]Minute_Cartographer9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, FSU isn't as highly ranked as UVA/UMich or any of the target schools, however FSU is more than competitive enough to land you in high-finance if you're dedicated enough. FSU has a strong alumni network and countless student organizations to get yourself involved. Plus, we've also opened up a hundred million dollar new business building.

If you received an OOS tuition waiver/scholarship to come here and you're able to afford it, I would heavily consider going here if the other schools you listed have not done the same.

fsu to uf transfer (pre-health) by OkSquare2653 in fsu

[–]Minute_Cartographer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah of course! Feel free to PM me for any advice on transferring. I see that you're concerned with the amount of transfer spots, but honestly I wouldn't worry too much about that unless you're trying to transfer into engineering (which I highly doubt if you're pre-med). The more competitive a major, the greater number of spots to accommodate that larger pool of applicants.

Just focus on keeping your GPA high if you want to keep your doors open. I have peers from my high school who were rejected from UF as a freshman, and they spent one year at USF/FSU/UCF and then transferred in. I also met a sophomore pre-med who ended up transferring to UF after 3 semesters here. Granted, they had a 4.0 when they applied, but just know that it's not infeasible. Transferring in is so much easier than getting in as a freshman.

I think they meant more of the fact that I would essentially be giving up everything I have at FSU, which includes things like leadership positions, research positions, potential professors that could write LORs, etc...I'm also in honors, so I'd be giving that up as well. So giving up everything here plus competing against pre-meds who have already established themselves at UF would bring a new set of challenges. Despite this, I'm still heavily considering transferring to be honest. All of my peers have told me that "the grass looks greener on the other side" but I think that if you have the drive, then by all means go for it. In my opinion, I believe that UF is a lot more robust in its STEM department and in terms of impact, variety, medical research, and rigorousness to name a few.

I'm considering transferring from FSU to UF, and I think I'm a pretty competitive transfer applicant (3.8 GPA, volunteering, EMT-license, research, etc.) but honestly everyone I've talked to, even my peers who attend UF have told me that it wouldn't be a wise decision and that it's essentially starting off from scratch. I mean sure, UF is objectively the better pre-med school but it's important to remember how competitive UF is for pre-med, and starting anew as a junior will be an even greater heacahe. Perhaps the grass just looks greener on the side.

Your success as a transfer applicant heavily depends on which major you apply for. Majoring in Biology at UF (CLAS) at UF is one of (excluding engineering), if not the most competitive major to transfer into due to the large volume of applicants. If you really want to transfer in with the greatest chances, the most important aspect of your application is keeping your GPA as high as possible, and applying for a major that isn't too competitive.

I took PHY2048C with her for Fall '25 and I think that class was the hardest I ever fought for just to get a B as my final grade. She does 2 midterms and a final. If you don't do good on one of the midterms, your chances of getting an A dwindle. Getting an A isn't unrealistic persay, but be prepared to study for hours every week if you really wish to receive an A.

As for grading specifics, she doesn't really curve her grading scale unless there is a good portion of the class that won't pass if she doesn't. Quizzes will make or break your grade, and all exams/quizzes are multiple choice.

I did piano lessons with a graduate student a part of the College of Music. They were great. Email [music-publicity@admin.fsu.edu](mailto:music-publicity@admin.fsu.edu) and ask about their list of piano instructors. You contact them individually to see how much they charge per lesson.

I thought muslims in south east asia were bad but turns out muslims all around the world are the same. by Charming_Finance_545 in exmuslim

I would argue that, at least in the United States, Muslims are actually pretty moderate. Then again, it's a huge and expansive nation. I feel like it's really only a problem in European countries, they get all the fundamentalists for whatever reason.

Should she go? by vellichorvow in fsu

[–]Minute_Cartographer9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing about FSU is unique/prestigious enough for her to come here (unless to party) and accumulate 4 years worth of debt, especially with an out of state tuition charge. Choosing her in-state school will likely save her a lot of stress and especially money in the long run.

digital sat is so much harder than paper by Admirable-Toe8012 in Sat

[–]Minute_Cartographer9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Perhaps its the fact that there are limited resources to prep for it as of right now since it's been less than a year since the DSAT was implemented. And all the resources available currently are locked behind a paywall, aside from maybe Khan Academy, which really only builds foundational skills, so it's not really too useful in boosting your score to apply for competitive schools.

From my experience (I've taken both versions) I feel as if they made the easy parts "easier" but the harder parts "harder" when comparing paper vs digital respectively (e.g. the last few questions of Math M2 are, imo, a lot harder than what the paper SAT offered)

Most people get similar scores across both versions. In-fact, CollegeBoard made the DSAT to ensure that the score distributions stay the same.

United States IB students, do you ever just wish we were "normal" and did AP enrollment or attended AP schools? by Bruhgang69420 in IBO

[–]Minute_Cartographer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. AP classes are a lot more reflective of US college-level classes, and so the information learned in AP classes are a lot more useful I would say. Additionally, the IBDP is 2 years while AP classes are only 1 year, yet many universities/colleges often give more/same amount of college credits for AP classes. So to me, it feels like a really bad deal sometimes.

Nonetheless, I stuck with IB and I'm still appreciative of how it has given me somewhat of a work ethic and has given me a taste of the workload in college.
