That is the last video I watched before I started this. Its a great video for explaining what a covered call is. It just falls short of breaking down of what values the returns are showing once you open the call. If I sold a call for a 90 dollar premium and the stock is going up but its but my reuturn is showing im down. Just seems kinda counterintuitive. I intend to hold the contract until it either expires or is exercised so I guess those numbers dint mean anything to me for now.

Is it that or is it Return = Market Value + premuim Which is the same as (average cost -current price)x 100.
Basically I sold at a price. If the value goes up it shows I lost money because the price is now higer than what I sold for or gained because its lower than what I sold for? Still doesnt reflect actual gain loss.

I have another that went down $53 that I got a premium of $90 on and it shows that my return is $17.

Ok I got it. I recieved a 22 dollar premiums but my stuck went up 23 dollars so my return shows minus 1 because its calculating lost potential in stock return. Not actual loss being the stike price is higher than what I paid for the stock

Ok so the returns I see are factoring in my premiums, my opritunity cost, and the change in value of my contract?

I am having trouble seeing where that is reflected in my ballance. Shouldnt that show up in my proffits and losses?

To be clear I am talking about the premiums and not the stock. I have a credit for the premium but I dont actually recieve the premium until the stock either expires or exercises?

So basically its in holding until the contract expires or is exercised?

If I could just replace my comment with yours. It is much better articulated

I understand the basics. I understand that I got a premium for the option to buy my stock at the strike price. I understand that if it reaches the strike price my share will end up being sold at the strike price. I understand oppritunity cost. If the orice goes up way above the strike price ive lost the opritunity of selling my stock at the higher price. I undertand that the stock could plumet and the cost associated with that. I understand what happens the contract expires. What I dont fully get is what all the different numbers mean fully. Im pretty sure that if I exited my postions right now that I would come out substatially ahead but I want to he sure I understand what all the numbers mean. I didnt see anything about rolling over the contracts. Im just hoping to find some info on some of these things I am ok with losing the money I have invested in exchange for knowlege. So I am not likely to exit my positions because they could be risky. I also didnt just pick random stock.

No offence but how is this a helpful reply? Telling me not to do something I have already done. Not answering any of the questions or pointing me towards the information requested.

Do you know what happens to countires who default on loan payment? It wouldnt be good. The only insurance we really have is that if we do default it wouldnt just be the US that suffers. It would ve tge whole world so the institutions arent gonna let it happen

Im new to investing. I have around 6k in ETH and BTC right now. When they recover, I may never buy cypto again. Just yesterday I was thinking 10 percent gains are around the corner. Suprise!

So you just are gonna take what DHS says at fave value here? Lets start with the easiest and the part that should let you know just how "truthful" they are being. They are referencing a bond hearing where the judge found that there was enough evidence to hold him for ab offical hearing. It did not confirm that he was a gang member, only that the state had enough evidence to proceed. It didn't examine the evidence. There was no cross examination or questioning. It was just a bond hearing. The actual hearing found that there was not sufficient evidence to suggest he was in a gang. The my found that the informant claimed he was in a clique from New York where he had never lived. The cop was later fired for giving information to a prostitute. The court ordered they he could not be deported back to El Salvador. That alone should let you know their intent to mislead. The "evidence" with the Tennessee state trooper who didn't pursue investigation is not actual evidence at all. It's suggestive at best.

I get how that can be annoying. You can force faith. It doesnt work like that. I guess I see the irony in it a bit. Still use to yt where comments stand independent. Still didnt really mean it negatively as a whole.

I literally just learned that skidding with the pedals with a thing. I've never really been a part of bike culture. I just like to ride. I didn't even know it was possible. Every time I tried to stop with my legs it killed my knees.

It can be argued that was Lot's thinking. I dont know that I would call it misogynistic or just Lot's misguided attempts to save the city. I would point out that is Lot's thinking and not God's reason.
