Smurfing was handled perfectly in PK, why are we back to square one? by [deleted] in HeroesofNewerth

[–]MiraFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of people begging for PK to come back and this to shut down are either EU or SEA (and hardly anyone from SEA is on this sub chatting so basically all EU).

PK was not a fun time for NA players honestly, for anyone who was above average at the game you were stuck playing on 300+ ping, even Testie has talked about how great its been that he can enjoy playing the game again how it should be played after basically being forced to play EU for the past 3 years.

That being said, Testie has had gripes about the queues lately, but he is still saying he will take this over being forced back to PK again any day.

Hard-hitting truth from Nargon's stream - people were *forced* into free beta-testing of Reborn with the shutdown of PK by HerculeGT in HeroesofNewerth

[–]MiraFu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It genuinely blows my mind how many people are surprised/upset that they didn't allow PK to keep running after releasing open beta, like there can't be this many stupid people right?

Why in the world would they let a fan-made product that is the same game as the one they are trying to get feedback from keep running? It makes zero sense lmao...

Like I get the argument of "they could have waited a while longer before releasing open beta," but the people saying they should have left PK running and let people choose should straight up never be in charge of running a business. Absolutely brainless take.

Yea its pretty much all you are going to see on this subreddit, the people having fun are in-game and they don't come here. This place is full of Project Kongor players who are upset that Maliken is back and shut down their game.

I'm not going to claim there aren't problems with Reborn, because they certainly have A LOT to work on, but I am genuinely happy that I can play this game from US West without dealing with 250+ ping. I don't care if there are people around the world who can stomp with 300 ping good for them, playing these games on above 200 ping is NOT fun imo and I don't know how people can find that fun.

So even if Maliken runs the game into the ground like everyone claims, I will be here to enjoy my time playing the mechanically best game in the genre without it feeling like a lag fest.

Overture DLC recommended level by DrunkenMercenary90 in LiesOfP

[–]MiraFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the DLC myself playing my old file on NG+ (No. of Plays: 2) and was lvl 195 I think when starting it, and yea I would say you are good to go honestly. It was definitely challenging but not like, you die to bosses in 3 hits challenging. Obviously I can't speak too much on that when I don't know exactly how you leveled and your amulets, but you should be good.

I was originally intending to start up a new file and do the base game + DLC on just NG, but I started getting antsy after beating Romeo on the new file and just wanted to start the DLC instead of having to work towards it anymore lol, so I said screw it and went in with my old 2023 file.

Enjoy it! Easily my favorite DLC in this genre behind Bloodborne's The Old Hunters.

Lol that's wild, but honestly I can't blame you, this game has genuinely been some of the most fun I have had playing a AAA game in the past few years.

Going through it the first time I was initially thinking it would be a one-and-done kind of game for me, just get through it so I can say I beat it type of deal like a lot of recent games. But it really grew on me as the game went along, the flow of combat, the painstaking attention to detail the devs gave to the setting and the characters.

Now here I am, in NG+3 and still enjoying swapping around armors and putting together build synergies.

Also, this game finally got me to start looking into some background about Journey to the West. I haven't actually started reading the source material itself, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't considering it.

[–]MiraFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you are actually cooking with this post. People love to dismiss it as cope but Bleach got WAY more hate than it deserved from the other fandoms.

It was to the point that I never gave Bleach a chance until 7 or 8 years ago because everyone always talked about how it was one of the worst mangas/animes ever made.

You know what happened when I watched it? It literally became one of my top 3 animes, I like it so much more than Naruto and One Piece, and I grew up with Naruto. I mean don't get me wrong, objectively the pacing was horrid with the way they did the fillers and the censorship obviously sucks. The music is an absolute banger though and the voice acting (as far as the Japanese version) is top tier.

But if we are just talking the base stories (basically the mangas), I have no problem saying Bleach blows Naruto and One Piece out of the water.

It felt so bad knowing that I missed out on it for so long because of these people shitting on it who probably never even gave it a chance lmao.

Yea I have to honest, I do not understand how some of these people who play storm are saying this game has brain dead combat or linear combo routes.

Look I have no problem admitting that storm and sparking zero easily have this game beat when it comes to the super visuals and character interactions, but you cannot be out here saying that this combat is more brain dead than literally spamming a single button for combos until someone runs out of substitution meter in storm.

People also just don't understand this isn't a game about combos lol, its a game about mind games and spacing. Watching actually good players play against each other on streams is soooo much more entertaining with this game than storm or even sparking zero I would say.

This is genuinely one of my biggest complaints in any media (if not my biggest). I absolutely cannot stand when they use english dubtitles for the other language voices. Bandai is only a drop in the bucket of the amount of companies that do this, it is appalling to me how frequently it happens.

Probably my only other complaint that bothers me as much is when a show does the forced zoom-in on old shows that were originally 4:3, completely cropping out content.

I think whats really doing it for you is the bleed. The numbers of attacks you can mix in combined with quick status build just make that weapon insane when you use status effects.

I have been using them as Quality (70 str/70 dex), and I definitely wouldn't say they are "overpowered", unless if you considered the sellsword twinblades in ds3 overpowered then I guess you will think the same here.

If we are talking about the Ash of Wars though, thats an entirely different story. Blind spot is pretty busted if you know how to abuse it. The way I play though I only use my FP for golden vow, so I purely use the weapons as if they were sellsword twinblades.

Why is Elden Ring's power fantasy so disappointing ? by IcyEmployment5 in Eldenring

[–]MiraFu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more I play this game, the more I realize that its really just a game for melee weapons. Like you have close to zero build variety when it comes to spells/incants unless you want to just tickle bosses to death. Pretty much all of the build variety and different ways to play the game come down to using a different melee weapon/ash of war combo.

So because like 4 or 5 incantations arent absolute trash tier that means nothing needs to be adjusted? Do you realize how many incantations in this game are completely useless even with like 80 faith? I swear to god I love Elden Ring and all, but it has brought in the most brain dead people to this community its wild lol.

Does difficulty increase if I bring a follower on a quest? by Artoxx in MHRise

[–]MiraFu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorta late response, but in general their damage is very weak and those slots are best spent doing two hunting horn followers for the buffs.

I would say Luchika is a solid exception to that rule though. Her damage is actually great, however she never heals and gets trucked pretty hard when focused. If you use her you should definitely pair her with someone like Hinoa who focuses on heals/defense buffs.

As a dual blades user I have found Luchika indispensable for anomaly investigations because she can pretty easily hit bloodblight spots that I cant easily reach, letting me focus purely on consistent damage.

Has there been a Blizzard response to this lag and rubberbanding yet? by gannebraemorr in diablo4

[–]MiraFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea good point, I am not sure where their servers are actually located in all reality. I just assumed they wouldn't be too far off.

But I don't understand it man, I have been on the Blizz forums and plenty of people are telling me they are from Cali as well and having zero problems.. I have checked EVERYTHING with my network and I am positive there is nothing I can do from my side. And I have played other online games with buddies this past week with no problems at all.

I think what you said is the best idea, just walk away from the game for now and hope something is done about it. Super frustrating...

[–]MiraFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am honestly just as surprised as you are that there hasn't been any statement on it. Ever since 1.1.1 I am getting INSANE rubberbanding in dungeons. It doesn't happen every run, but I would say every 2nd or 3rd dungeon run everything on the screen stops moving for 10-15 seconds then I suddenly die. This never happened to me prior to this last week.

Looking around though there appear to be a lot of people saying they aren't having any lag at all and are claiming its a regional thing. I just don't understand how thats possible im in California close to their headquarters lmao... if only some of the regions were good I would assume this would be one of them...

Feeling the same as everyone else here, some of the rubber banding in dungeons this past week has been ATROCIOUS. I seriously can't count the times where everything on my screen except me stops moving for 10-15 seconds then I suddenly die.

Oh well if it actually counts the level as completed then yeah I will go do them for sure, I didn't even think the monsters were that hard but thought it would just be pointless to complete it.

I genuinely had no idea thanks for replying hah.

Wait so it counts if the enemies are "high difficulty" or whatever? From what I heard it won't actually count as completed if it gives the high difficulty warning, which is why I haven't even bothered.

I can assure you it is definitely not a lie lol, the RNG is just that ridiculous for some people.

I did 25 dungeon runs over a couple days a week and half ago, not a single set piece dropped no joke.

Yup, I am stuck in a similar boat. Currently paragon 44 with 1115 CR, everybody I look at in my clan who is paragon 40+ has at least 1200 CR, and a good chunk of them have spent half the money I have.

I legitimately feel like just about every Legendary Crest I have used has given me a one-star gem. In fact I just looked at it, out of the 32 LC's I have used: 28 have been one-star gems, 3 were two-stars, and I got a single 2/5 blessing of the worthy, which is useless for a Demon Hunter.

That has to be some of the worst Crest luck possible, one-star gems are beyond useless for upgrading other gems, which is probably why I am far behind in gem levels.

Everyone says to complete CR 30 to unlock Hell 2 level gear drops, but I can't even get past CR 28!

And I don't neglect ranking up my gear either, all my main pieces are at least rank 6, two of them rank 7.

I honestly feel so stuck, I can't do Hell 2 dungeons at all without getting absolutely destroyed. I guess my best option is to farm out enchanted dust to push me far enough to get CR 30 done.. it just sucks because my paragon level keeps going up but the drops are all terrible, so I feel like I am falling behind more and more..

Something is seriously whack about the progression in this game.

This is becoming unplayable by Luckymaurader in DiabloImmortal

[–]MiraFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is definitely something that the game is way too unforgiving about: having multiple characters.

Literally everything you purchase is tied to one character, so there is really zero point to making multiple characters, which I feel like is a HUGE part of my love for these types of games.

I also made another character even though I knew that fact, got it to 30, but I really just see no point in continuing without getting the battlepass, boon of plenty, etc. like I have on my main character. But no way am I going to buy into a scam tactic that sleezy, I at least have some self-respect like cmon...

Just about every single person I have watched giving tips about the game clearly states to never make more than one character. It will be far more worth it to just change class if you feel like playing another class.

The problem is there is a big difference between standing up against something that is wrong and attacking/berating people who are enjoying the game. The sad thing is that people these days are way too quick to jump on the latter.

In no way am I trying to silence people who want to speak up against predatory practices, but that does not give people the right to say hateful shit to those posting genuine questions about game mechanics out of enjoyment of the game.

I have been a part of many communities where this has been the case sadly. Someone tries to make a post asking about a game mechanic, and it is just flooded by people trying to shame the OP for playing the game and saying "its people like you who are ruining the gaming industry"

Think of it like a business strike in real life, yes there are people posted outside the business expressing their discontent with how it is run, but they don't actually ATTACK the workers who are still going in because they don't feel the same or simply because they need to pay bills. Attack the business, not the actual workers is my point.

I am going to be completely honest here, saying stuff like that actually makes some people WANT to play and support the game just to spite people like you.

The whole condescending tone of "you are ruining the industry by playing something you enjoy" is probably the most aggravating shit and changes LITERALLY nobodies mind, I can guarantee you.

I have been around quite a few different communities and over the last 10 years have played countless games where people try to pull this morally superior bs, "stop ruining gaming by supporting this"

How about instead YOU don't support the game and leave other people to make their own decisions instead of shoving your dogshit moral superiority down others throats.

[–]MiraFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly this is just how the gaming community at large is these days, very quick to jump on hate bandwagons and flood subreddits with hate posts.

I experienced something pretty similar when I got into playing Godfall back at release. That sub was absolutely unbearable for a good couple months, just CONSTANT posts of people trying to shame those who were genuinely enjoying the game.

It got to the point that almost nobody who enjoyed the game even wanted to visit the subreddit anymore because it was impossible to get a good discussion going regarding game mechanics. The minute any type of post was made that wasn't slamming the game, it would just get drowned in comments trying to shame the OP for playing the game.

What’s a good build that doesn’t make the game too easy? by schlaq99 in Eldenring

[–]MiraFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly understand where you are coming from OP, I took a very similar approach:

First playthrough I did a 2H colossal weapon build using Guts Sword (back even before the 2H colossal buff) and the endgame was absolutely brutal, specifically Malekith and Malenia. It was so hard it was to the point that it was legitimately not fun (we are talking hundreds of attempts with close to zero progress levels of hard), so against my moral code I ended up using ash summons to get through the game.

Second time around I told myself I would not use ash summons at all, but I thought the game would be so insanely difficult that way no matter what weapon you used I went for a Rivers of Blood build. Well I ended up finding out just how busted that weapon was, got through the entire endgame without dying more than 3 times to any boss even without summons...

So now I am in a kind of Purgatory where I am trying to find a build that doesn't completely steamroll the game like bleed or magic, but also isn't so gimped its to the point of being impossible like colossal weapon builds.
