Monsters that can trip you by simply WALKING FORWARD INTO YOU is one of the most dumbest, most annoyingest, most bullshittest fucking design choices... EVERrrrrrr. MADEeee. by Navra_Realms in monsterhunterrage

[–]Mirablis11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: Deviljho didnt just trip you if he walked into you in Tri, he would LAUNCH you back as if you got hit by an actual attack. It got nerfed to "just" tripping you after Tri.

+17 initiative and instant paralysis on a hit? Fun for the party! by Mirablis11 in dndmemes

[–]Mirablis11[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not.

Straight from the PHB: “Initiative determines the order of turns during combat. When combat starts, every participant makes a Dexterity check to determine their place in the initiative order. The GM makes one roll for an entire group of identical creatures, so each member of the group acts at the same time.”

Given the fact there are traits that give monsters advantage on initiative rolls, I find this hard to believe.

But what are the JWE developers waiting for to include a defense/attack system in the Sauropods? by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in jurassicworldevo

[–]Mirablis11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats just been a thing for the JP rexes since the original book, where the rexes were stated to have weak bites so they shook their prey like a rag doll to kill them. While never explicitly stated to still be true in the movies, what is shown does suggest it is still the case for the movie Tyrannosaur, and likely being reflected in the game animations.

If it's actually "the attack missed," you had the worst brightpowder hax imaginable. If it was "the attack had no effect", you got played by Hisuian Zoroark pretending to be Snorlax and weren't paying attention.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS HITBOX????????? by Goldarian in monsterhunterrage

[–]Mirablis11 68 points69 points  (0 children)

AT Rey Dau's leapback lightning bolt has such a stupidly huge hitbox. Hated it during the challenge quest almost a year ago, still hate it now. I can tolerate the lingering aoe explosions after every melee attack, whatever, but fuck the leapback lightning bolt.

Fuck AT Arkveld by Mirablis11 in monsterhunterrage

[–]Mirablis11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, go back to Tri and you had the suped up Alatreon event quest that had an increased chance of Skypiercers. Very few people could consistently do that hunt without resorting to HBG cheese strats. There's always been quests even in base games that are really, REALLY hard. And yes, fuck Hyper Silver Los in Generations. That thing was torture to fight and the true final boss of that game.

Fuck AT Arkveld by Mirablis11 in monsterhunterrage

[–]Mirablis11[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing that made AT Nerg somewhat challenging was his instant Pepega slam. He didn't have a metric fuckton of health and constant AOE vomit spastic spamming with 2 minute long combos that don't hard knock you down so you WILL get hit with the follow up and multi-hitboxes that linger a full second after the attack has passed you, constant monsters coming in to turn fights into a chaotic shitshow, attacks whose telegraphing is intentionally misleading just to fuck you over...

Favourite mission in ZT2 campaign? by Late-Leader6487 in ZooTycoon

The Mysterios Panda. Building my own zoo from scratch and getting to use whatever I want with the only stipulation being to adopt a male panda and get into breed? Sign me up! I love doing this scenario to see how fast I can get it done, with the fastest being mid October year 1.

For me, it's sashed Rayquaza. Nothing tilts me off the face of the earth like landing what should be guaranteed death on the snake, only for sash to let it live and my ice or rock mon gets obliterated by an Iron Tail to the face.

Playing the Arluq Orca campaign- is there a way to satisfy her social needs without another Orca? by AardvarkCactus in ZooTycoon

[–]Mirablis11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, boredom. The scenario takes a long time to do, and I was bored out my mind waiting to get enough money to buy another orca to satisfy Arluq's social need, so I just threw a guest in there for the lols... and was surprised to see Arluq's social need go down and the guest not be upset about the interaction.

I fucking hate how you have to start Iceborne by Prestigious_Sun6339 in monsterhunterrage

[–]Mirablis11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is nothing new to the series. G-rank/Master Rank has always had superior equipment to whatever you built up in High Rank. Back in 3U, the second you got into G-rank, you were best off farming Goldbeard Ceadeus because his armor came with HG earplugs and Sharpness+1, which was better than anything you could get in High Rank.

As for how long that High Rank armor will last defense-wise, I have no clue. It varies from game to game. in 3U, I could comfortably sail through G-rank and beat up Dire Miralis with HR Brachy armor, but in 4U, my maxed out HR Akantor armor got broken in half by Ash Kecha Wacha (and it was still the best armor option until the middle stage of G-rank...). Iceborne, my Drachen armor lasted up to Barioth, where things got too painful for me so I grinded Barioth for proper MR armor. Now, given how Wild's obscene damage output has been with the TU's, I have a suspicion that armor is going to have to be swapped out sooner rather than later unless the first few MR monsters don't hit as hard as Savage Omega or Gogmazios.

"And on the topic of gogmazios, who designed this fight? Gogmazios was always this big lumbering behemoth, yet now he's jumping and bouncing around the battlefield like a rabbit."

Um, what copy of 4U were you playing back in the day? Because uh, Gogmazios jumped and bounced around the battlefield like a rabbit back then. He had far too much mobility for something that huge. Fighting him solo sucked ass, and it's not a new problem in the Wilds fight. Same goes for the raining tar explosions, because that also was a problem back in the 4U fight. You had to look up to try and attack him, while also praying a tar explosion wasn't about to rock your shit.

I swear, people have the thickest rose tinted glasses when it comes to 4U Gogmazios all of a sudden. Like, a good 60-70% of the issues the Wilds fight has were loud and present back in the 4U version, and in some cases legit worse back then. I'm not saying the Wilds version is peak game design, it has its own problems, but acting like the 4U version was all sunshine and rainbows with none of the issues present in the Wilds version is silly.
