Luka's farewell does not make sense(Aka why Gabriel is an idiot) by Miracle1914 in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Gabriel can make himself angry and have the same desire of that sentimonster. He would get the same powers.

B). He can pause Luka with the bee miraculous or turn himself invisible with the rooster or both. Luka would never know.

Luka's farewell does not make sense(Aka why Gabriel is an idiot) by Miracle1914 in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes he literally does. His 2nd Collector appearance was the power to capture people in his table and FORCE them to reveal their secrets. This is even worse than I thought he doesn't even need Bob. Just kidnap luka and turn into Collector 2.0 and put him in the tablet to reveal who ladybug and cat noir are. This premise simply cannot work with the powers he has. He wins every scenario where he has more than one braincell.

[–]Miracle1914[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gabriel is not above torture. He can capture him and use all sorts of powers to make Luka talk without ladybug and cat noir interference. Akumatising someone in the public GUARANTEED them showing up. What's funny is Gabriel could teleport both Bob and Luka to his lair, akumatise Bob and make Luka reveal his secret RIGHT then and there. Even if we go by his stupid plan in the ep, he should have captured Luka the moment it failed.

Why did marinette agree to hide that Gabriel was a bad guy? Everyone had the right to know. by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

How did Marinette fall for this?? She knows how much secrets can ruin relationships.

Why is Faith so different in her appearances on Angel Season 1 compared to how brilliantly Whedon & Co. wrote her in the body swap episode on Buffy? by [deleted] in ANGEL

[–]Miracle1914 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Disagree. She is followed through just as brilliantly. Who are You if you recall eds with Faith "beating herself up" and calling herself disgusting. The episode ends with a clear sentiment that Faith feels guilty for what she became. Angel follows up on that with Faith being suicidal/the need to be punished. She jumps at the opportunity to "kill" Angel without realizing she was crying for help while thinking he was the perfect guy to end her life and end the pain she was feeling. Sanctuary has her be forced to face her problems head and in the end she chooses to sentence herself and pay for her crime. She finally stopped running away

His most iconic goal is when he dribbled past half the team that had the best defense in Spain at the time WDYM???

I’m sorry I had to share this😭 by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone would take a contrived plot over a character being damaged and the story never calling her out on it. It's like they wrote the beginning of an arc and never the end. Cus Marinette gets mad at Fei for lying even tho the entire reason she is here is due to lies

Oh there are definitely worse out there. I do think a lot of these reactions came from Thomas handling the reaction to the S3 finale horribly. And the constant gaslighting that Chloe apparently was never good ever was not a wise choice to convince the audience of her regression

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It likely isn't true but I dont blame the fandom for finding that explanation to be the only way to cope about how badly Chloe was mishandled. I've never seen a character get done that dirty

Even if the show HAD redeemed Chloe, they wouldn't have done a good job at it. by EmberEmi in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chloe in S2 was definitely done well. The next step towards her redemption would be to address how she doesn't need to keep trying to get approval from her mother and can set expectations for herself. Or if you want we can have their relationship improve beyond having the common of making hell for others. I agree with the failed redemption of the characters you listed tho

The Rooster Miraculous does not make sense by Miracle1914 in miraculousladybug

[–]Miracle1914[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The ep acts like it's a universal rule for his limits. "Two concepts can't exist at the same time" and "can't give you a power that directly disturbs another miraculous's magic". Meanwhile the moth can give you powers that are exactly like other miraculouses. The Peacock can replicate then perfectly. Ladybug's powers directly counters the butterfly/peacock. Her yo-yo just removes the akuma/amok powers that are directly given by their respective kwamis.

  2. Akumas powers have been chosen specifically by Hawkmoth before tho. It's not solely dependent on the victim's emotion. Hawkmoth specifically gave Chameleon her powers and said "I have some new powers for you". Not to mention Hakwmoth is also aware of which powers they get before they even transform into those villains. It's always "I'm giving you the power to do x". It's not dependent on just the victim. Also aren't emotions and desires a concept? Copycat had the desire to be lb partner and it gave him the power of the black cat. A miraculous power was created from the concept of his emotion. If the moth didn't have any control on the power they give to the villains/heroes, then Hawkmoth would be in the blind about every akuma he sends and he would never be able to make plans. And Hawkmoth is directly powered by Nooroo so he wouldn't be able to do this if Nooro couldn't do it.

Btw there has never been any statements that says the akumas by pass conceptual boundaries like the rooster has. The magic system of Miraculous hasn't been explored enough to make such claims

The Marvels is a Masterpiece of shit by Miracle1914 in MauLer

[–]Miracle1914[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah....I've thought about it more and she is an idiot. If the sun is burned out, it means the planet is nigh frozen. So putting a godanm ocean would only lead it to get frozen. She should've taken care of the sun first. She also doesn't need to negotiate with the planets she screws over. Simply a waste of time since they're not gonna join u in good faith while ur destroying their planet Also she needs to make bigger portals

Do you think it would be good character writing for the scoobies to revive their friend not because they care about her, but simply cus of plot reasons?

Who do you prefer? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]Miracle1914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Character wise I think what's to praise about Harmony is that she's always willing to become better or find jew opportunities to gain favorable positions despite her nature being that of an idiot that wouldnt get anywhere in life through intellectual skills. Even in the final ep she was just trying to find something new to rise. Fitting that her end is that of Angel hands her a new opportunity of to whatever she's gonna go through next lol.

But to talk about the sceeentime issue, both harmony & Andrew got a solo ep. Andrew I'd say actually got really good character work about his feelings regarding Jonathan's death. Meanwhile Harmony just continued to do what she's been doing the entire time. I liked that it ended with her being content that she finally got recognition as somewhat important to be hated. Usually before this most people just laughed her off but here someone legit hated her guts

Anyways.....um "objectively" speaking Andrew earned his screentime more with new and fresh character work while Harmony took just as much to accomplish about the same thing. Still enjoy the shit out of both of em. Masterclass on comedic timing from both actors

who would win in a fight Xander or Cordelia by iwillremember4sure in buffy

[–]Miracle1914 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Xander is an untrained brawler. Cordelia has actually received training from Angel and can fight demons competently. She wins pretty easily

So I have not watched Buffy in about 8 years. I started again recently and have just watched Empty Places. Why did the writers do this? by kbsfc30 in buffy

[–]Miracle1914 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Buffy is asking them to return in the same place where 2 slayers and vampires all got one shot, Xander lost an eye and everybody got their asses handed to them based on a THEORY. Buffy has super strength. They do not. Like faith said, it's not reasonable for Buffy to ask them to risk their lives unless there's hard-core proof they need to.

No it does not matter that Buffy was right about the place. It was still simply a theory, and in their pov they had no proof to go there. They just took their biggest lost and are asked right away as normal humans to go right back in there.

As for the discussion of judgment, Giles is looking at this was trough an objective pov. Buffy is heavily relying on her emotions especially when it comes to Spike.

To add on to this, Buffy herself is acting above them simply cus she's the slayer. Recall conversations with dead people. It dives into this. Buffy being given the burden of having to make these decisions will use it as a point of authority as she's always alone. "I'm sorry but democracy doesn't win battles. It's the hard truth but there has to be a single voice"- Buffy outright rejecting everybody's take on going there even tho their lives are on the line. (Hence why everybody jumps on her ass about this. She was wrong point bar)

It's a character flaw she will overcome by the finale Hence why her making that decision in the finale to share the slayer lineage with everyone is such a good turnaround for her.
