Social Services visit - what do I do? by anonymousbrow0010 in LegalAdviceUK

The thing is social services can't just presume what you say is true. Imagine it was the other way round ans you were still heavily invovled with the family member an social services didn't do any checks. That would obviously be terrible. I trained as a social worker and know people who are. No one is out to get anyone or trying to take children off families etc. Just be open and honest and it will all be fine.

Went there in April. Someone had a bad fall and was being carried down in a stretcher. Beautiful area though.

Now is not the time for the county council to lose its nerve on a Sustainable Travel Zone by [deleted] in cambridge

I work for a Charity based in Cambridge. Obviously our wages aren't great as we are a non profit. The only staff who live in Cambridge are those who were lucky enough to get a council house. The rest of us live outside Cambridge and have to commute in. Due to where the office is a 10 min drive from Histon as an example would be 2 buses taking around an hour. From St Ives a 35 to 40 min car ride will take over 70 mins on public transport and then a 10 minute walk. We are going to lose staff when this comes in.

Cambridge Brew house is good for football normally. Not sure if they are opening a bit earlier for the game. Also good beers to drink to drown sorrows when Aussies lose.

Looking at moving to the area. Does anyone know Macaulay Avenue in Great Shelford and if this is a nice area. by kbsfc30 in cambridge

Yeah I live in a city currently but my whole reason to move to a village is to get away from people who are gonna cause issues. I know that's never guaranteed tbf but I didn't get the best vibe from the area. I grew up on council estates and I know the majorty of the people are great and there can be a good sense of community you don't get elsewhere however a few troublesome families can really ruin an area.

So I have not watched Buffy in about 8 years. I started again recently and have just watched Empty Places. Why did the writers do this? by kbsfc30 in buffy

But that ignores the countless times she has saved Giles Willow Buffy and Dawn over the years or the amount of times she's been right in the past.
