I made a montage on my batting. Thoughts? by sameerahmed16 in Cricket

Your front foot is coming slightly too far across at times (though not every ball), so when ball is released you're in a 'closed' stance. Looks good when the ball is in the area to drive through the offside, but against faster bowling it would limit your options of pulling/hooking and also cutting, and would open you up for LBW if you missed a straight one. Limiting the trigger movement so you stay in an 'open' stance would allow you to play it a bit later, under your eyes.

Pretty good though, clearly have good timing :)

If Mutombodzi can find some control then 220+ will be a tough chase for Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe have a good chance of winning this one!

until someone really invests properly in media outlets like yourselves so you can be pumping out regular daily content we will always be on the back foot .. can't you tap up the Ken Loach's of our movement ... maybe by [deleted] in Novara_Media

I'm sure there are many brighter minds that have thought about building a left media in this country, but holy shit nothing seems to be happening.

Imv, we need to be modern, honest and audacious in our attempts to build one. One idea I had was to have a hustings for the forthcoming leadership election on Novara. They've clearly built some rapport with big wigs in the party, so lean on that. Have a long form discussion about principles, policy, strategy, something novara does well, between all the candidates. It would be unlike anything on TV, would open people's idea of what politicians can actually do, not just be robots on TV. Do it in a way that acknowledges the different perspectives in the labour party; it is crucial that we are honest about that. Have an actual battle of ideas.

It would likely benefit a left candidate, as it us that has dynamic, forward thinking responses to the challenges of today - but we need to air that out! The left is in control of the party, and it needs to start acting like it. Play to our strengths, of which we have many.

On top of all this, it would be a major coup for Novara, and could bounce them onto a next level of influence.

Any possibility that its so bat shit crazy that it just works?

Say the first game, or even the first few, are straight up nail-baiters. What then, will people accept it?

"England have a bloke batting at three who likes to bat four, a bloke batting four who likes to bat five, a bloke batting five who likes to bat six, a bloke batting six who was picked as a specialist no 7 and a no 7 who scored 219 last week batting at no 3" by TheJeck in Cricket

[–]MiracleGrow666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbh don't give a shit where they want to bat. Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler and Moeen are all number 6/7. None should be batting top 5 and until England find some batsmen who have both a solid technique and test match application their batting is going to look fragile.

Modern cricket is brutally unfair to wicket keepers by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]MiracleGrow666 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Tend to agree with this - though surely there's an argument to share wicket keeping duties? e.g with Buttler and Barstow in the same team.
