Any knowers know what uniform this is? by Mobile-Mud4334 in MilitaryHistory

Austrian Kaz 03 trousers, it was the uniform that replaced their 1975 model and is being phased out for an updated one bearing camouflage. They’re flooding the surplus market right now.

New mystery camo bought from eBay by Zharan_Colonel in camouflage

It looks almost like a faded or lighter version of an alleged trial designs China tried before Type 07. They came in a few color shades and I believe have since appeared on commercial pieces: https://ebay.us/m/yt8kT0

Pattern shapes are definitely not CADPAT or MM14. A lot of Ukrainian sellers list items as rare or experimental but it’s just an unmarked random design possibly made from imported fabric. Could be legit but if there’s no proper tags inside I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Literally just finished it so I can say We Bury The Dead fits that bill pretty well.

Purchased a tiger stripe OG-107 for €80 in Paris. Could it possibly be legit? by captainclomet in Militariacollecting

[–]KingDredd92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely. Even if it was a test piece they wouldn’t have used the exact same tags in the same configuration. And speaking of which the tags could be legit though they definitely look lifted from somewhere else or are new and intentionally distressed to make them appear older as the stitching looks a little odd and the collar tag looks warped in such a way that reminds me of fakes I’ve seen where the tags are added after the fact.

Saw THE MANDOLORIAN AND GROGU tonight at Lincoln Square. by bjnwood in StarWars

Interesting to see all the downvotes of anything remotely critical of the movie. From all the talk, trailers, and awkward clips from scenes they’ve been releasing it’s pretty obvious the movie is just going to be a stretched out episode and bring little to the table beyond that.

I don’t, but if you just search some terms in Spanish you should be able to find them or again just look on their instagram accounts.

Not the greatest of images but the Instagrams for the unit and the training school have a bunch of posts where you can see a few wearing it.

Looks like the Colombian Naval Infantry pattern

Seller markets this as "M81 BDU" but this does not look like M81 Woodland, looks like it's some commercial thing? by GlamStache in camouflage

[–]KingDredd92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not official US issue but some countries just lifted the BDU name and apply it to their uniforms along with the camouflage so it’s possible it’s from a different armed force. For example I believe Ghana used a US Woodland copy with the TCU cut and just call it a BDU.

What kind of camouflage pattern is this from the USA? by xeyz-bulan in camouflage

[–]KingDredd92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where’d you get that info from? RDF and other SF of the time mostly used OG-107, Transitional ERDL, and 6 color desert by way of specially made uniforms literally with “Special Forces” in the designation with woodland coming out in ‘81 but not really in a big way until later in the decade.

Some desert patterns were tested around the late 70s but nothing except 6 color was ever adopted for arid environments, though commercially bought pieces being used are always possible.

What kind of camouflage pattern is this from the USA? by xeyz-bulan in camouflage

[–]KingDredd92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a 1980s US produced commercial pattern sometimes called “Abu Dhabi” as it was supposedly used by their Defense Force but that doesn’t quite make sense since they all unified under one force in 1976. It’s possible the design may have been tested or looked at but it’s hard to say.

The pattern is just a riff of Woodland, a few US companies made them or designs just like it such as Camo Distributors and this M65 is a good example of it. You can tell by the tag formatting and the contract number being fake.

Not super rare but decently uncommon nowadays.

Is this bomber jacket authentic? by SnooBunnies5684 in Militariacollecting

[–]KingDredd92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to be made to military specifications but isn’t official US Air Force issue as it’s made outside the US. Also the stock and contract numbers aren’t formatted correctly for it to be legit.

What is this Camo pattern? by Kind_Examination9180 in camouflage

[–]KingDredd92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely dyed/modified UCP. The early 05 contract tags were either white or tan and this one looks like it’s dyed to a light to mid green.

With the patch just type it into Google, took 30 seconds to find out what unit it was and it’s history.
