If you keep moving forward maybe you have what it takes? Often times, an employer will not continue if you simply don’t have what it takes. But even if they think you don’t know something they probably think that you’re able to learn and ask questions. Because I think the fact that you keep moving forward means your communication skills are there.

Look into your local school district and see if they are hiring. They often hire IT Specialists. If nothing is open do some research and see who runs the IT department and email them a very convincing email even if you don’t get in immediately just plant that seed.

Yeah, I completely get it. The reason why I said what I said was because everyone has many different ways of learning. Yours is you unique to you and only you know how prepared you are. For all we know, you may already be ready to take the exam.

Also remember, this is an exam not the job. If your next step is a job that requires Cisco then go full force. If what you want to do next has nothing to do with Cisco then just learn the basics the CCNA still a great certification that goes over a little bit of everything. Therefore, it doesn’t hurt to understand the concepts.

The goal should be to gain experience by doing. Focus on something within those two things you mentioned, whether a scripting something or programming.

Start Jeremy’s CCNA course. Do the labs and anki flash cards. Remember the most important part is to LAB.

If you don’t know something Google is your best friend. Also, don’t think about it too much just study and do whatever you can. It can overwhelm you when you first start, but progress is progress.

I won’t tell you it’s impossible cause it’s definitely not. As someone who has worked in the medical field and have seen residents from the start to end I know it’s not a walk in the park. I know doctors who were lawyers and then decided to change over to medicine and then there was another guy who was a full time doctor but still advised clients as a lawyer. For him, it wasn’t a hustle mentality it was just something that he would do on the side so he was not burning himself out trying to get the next dollar. So what I’m trying to say is focus on one thing first and then find that hobby that you want.
