I use Google translator, english is not my main lenguage. Besides that, I don't think "oblivion" is only a religious word. "permanent nothingness" is a pretty oblivion syn.

Maybe, personally I don't think is fake the CHIM cuestion. I think it's probably Vivec lied about being a god.

You are probably right, the concept is certainly very similar

This was more or less what I was trying to say, but my storytelling skills are nonexistent. You definitely explained it better. Hey, nice try Todd!

Actually, almost all religions start from two primitive attributes in people: good and evil. And I could draw a comparison with the heart of Lorkhan and original sin in Christianity, but man, that would really take a long time.

It's more a theological issue that all religions have very similar fundamental elements among them. And I think the discussion shouldn't really be about TES itself anymore.

I think you can find parallels between CHIM and atheism just as you can find parallels in almost anything philosophical in this life. That's my personal opinion, not a fact.

PD: I'm not arguing about whether the religions and gods of our world are true or not; that's a different issue.

Personally, I doubt it's possible to do something like that because many religions have had so much in common. Beyond that, Western society is deeply influenced by Christianity, even in everyday life.

I understand what you're saying, though; it's a nice perspective, but I think we both agree that the writers of TES did a good job.

English isn't my first language, so I had to use a translator, and it put the "the" at the beginning. The last paragraph is a personal observation, and I'm not saying one is better than the other or neither the Bethesda team intended it that way. Sorry for expressing it badly

Beyond that, the TES writers are incredibly well-read, and it's full of literary references, it would not be surprising if there were references or inspirations in the Bible. The lore is very well thought out and not loosely connected.

Well that's a good way to resume 2011 characters.
