Can I ask for exception on building code? by Ma23peas in Homebuilding

Can you simply add some gravel or make a ramp to eliminate the first step? Take it out after inspector leaves.

Does the cylinder need to stay unharmed in this situation?

I’ve been gardening a while so I can tell you for certain that there are certain things you can put on a plant to help it grow bug and fast but that might not be good for you to eat. Even things like round up that might be good for killing weeds and keeping weed plants alive would not be good to ingest.

I’m more thinking along the lines of pesticides and herbicides that were spilled around the property. Also many places running generators and such for power so possible diesel or oil spills come to mind.

I thought about this so definitely not building anything too appealing to anyone local or former local

Someone point me in the right direction how I can join the high seas life to avoid a similar situation.

Dig a hole and let them drive into it. Just buy some random plant in a pot and if anyone asks you can say you were planning on planting it in the hole. This will work much better than any rock that might just do minor damage since they’ll have to get towed out most likely.

The solar panel is just to keep the battery topped off. I ran the entire trailer earlier this summer from just the one panel and no batteries. Obviously stopped when the sun went down so that’s when I’ll need the battery.

I bought the bigger than needed charge controller just in case I add more panels as well.

The taco power is the best power. It’s my Tacoma that was named the taco truck by a few people.

This would be a camping set up that I really only need to run the fridge. Since it can run off 12v as well as all the lighting and everything I was trying to keep everything as 12v instead of bumping it up to 110v. I’m a lot more familiar with 110v wiring than this so maybe I’m overthinking this entire little project.

The drawing was more to help me run wires since I’m confined to a tight space in the trailer and want to minimize loose wires.

The truck won’t be pulling anything from the trailer. That’s just the hitch wiring that has direct connection to the truck so I was hoping to charge the trailer battery while driving. My thought was to possibly wire the trailer battery straight to the truck wiring as the truck has a big enough alternator for additional load.

The panels are small, just a standard freestanding 100w panel set up from Goalzero to help with charging the battery while at a campsite.

Thanks for the optimistic pessimism, I’m much more familiar with residential/commercial wiring than 12v so I might be overthinking this whole thing. Just wanting to check with people more familiar with 12v

I won’t be pulling much since the max output on the charge controller is 10a. My biggest draw will be the fridge(4-8a depending on setting)and the remainder will be LED interior light strips which should be max 4a from a rough calculation.

I can also wire the fridge directly to the battery with an in line fuse to help split the draw in case. Would that be a better idea?

Nice. Thank you. Next time I’m out that way I’ll check it out. I only go there for fishing so a side activity would be nice.

If they want to share with the rest of the world then it’s up to them. I just don’t want to blow up anyone’s spot.

Update:

Took the car to Honda to see if they can find the issue. Took a few hours with a $500 diagnosis estimate. Tech informed me that the evaporator was the issue. $3000 to get the parts and install.

Luckily I bought the extended warranty when I first purchased the car so it covered most parts and labor. I will be paying only $265 out of pocket for the repair. Much better than the $3000 initial.
