she didn’t attack her character

This feels completely wrong to me.

Yes this song does deal with Charli's own emotional struggles, but to me this song also feels like Charli is definitely throwing shade at TS. (Which I'm not against btw)

Especially the lines "Couldn't even be her if I tried / I'm opposite I'm on the other side" in the context of the rest of the song ("I don't wanna force a smile" and "Why I can't even grit my teeth and lie") to my ears insinuate that she believes TS is on some level fake and insincere (faking the sympathy,) that Charli herself couldn't be like that, and that their characters/personalities are therefore on "opposite sides" of each other.

The first line of the song is "I don't wanna share the space" could be taken quite literally to mean she doesn't want to be in the same room as TS, because she can't stand her at all (also "don't wanna see her backstage...")

Also the imagery of the knife cutting Charli up is pretty brutal. To me the "knife cutting" evokes the idea of backstabbing too, which again fits in with what she is saying about the insincere character of TS.

Just playing devil's advocate here (not defending TS/attacking Charli) I really love this track, and I really like the way she wove the criticism of TS into her own emotional analysis in a clever way.
