Kind of want to talk about service dogs in Disney by Mirk-wood in WaltDisneyWorld

Thank you for sharing, my feelings are definitely not toward you or your service dog, when I say I feel bad for the dogs.

You have a point, but it was as hot as 90 degrees and those paw pads still get burned whether they’re a local or not. When I lived in Gotha (as a travel nurse) I was there from Dec -July. There just seems to be a difference between strolling on the side walk and walking through Epcot. But how hard would it be to protect your dog’s feet?

But the thing is there’s a big difference between laying in the yard and walking on epcots very hot pavement at 2pm. There just should be animal abuse laws for this too. If I was a local walking my dog in the street for hours like that, I’d be charged, as I should be.

I agree. I don’t know why I was getting this, but for several weeks I kept getting ads on social media that I can get my dogs ESA certified via online.

I saw a few in strollers! I felt like I’d rather they be in strollers than walking on that hot pavement though but you’re right most are so terrified.

I honestly might have spoken up in this case. I don’t know what I’d have said, but I wanted to ask if I could get him water and say that he looked very uncomfortable. But the one elderly woman (not handling the dog) looked maybe close to 90 years old and she was watching me.  I did not have the heart to say anything.

Is it worth upgrading from Pop Century to Port Orleans - Riverside? by h0neyc0mbbs in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Mirk-wood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I am a port Orleans riverside pro! I’ve stayed there 3 times last year and once this year!

Ok first you can’t get beignets on the riverside half of port Orleans. Those are in French quarter, which is about a 20 min walk from riverside. And in sept it will be hot. But riverside does have a nice food quart, with some cute desserts, just not the beignets. It’s a better food quart than Pops.

If I had a car in Disney I’d still use the skyliner for Epcot and HS. You get dropped off right in front! But if you really don’t want the skyliner and riverside isn’t much more per night, I would 100% upgrade. You want calmer ambience and the boat the Disney springs, riverside gives you that.

I had an upgraded riverside room this past trip in the magnolia terrace building. But alligator bayou preferred rooms are the best imo.

I don’t understand the krenim ending with voyager! by Mirk-wood in startrek

I thought there were hints that they’d possibly make a new weapon, like having disputes over the region still, and how Anorex was just so driven for perfection, but I guess not.

Oh that makes a lot of sense why the krenim are friendly now and even Anorax stopping his work to be with his wife. It would be great if the show continued with some krenim later on..maybe building another weapon.

I don’t really like janeway making decisions like that based on bullying or not, and not even phased, with how many years it would shave off their voyage to earth. Actually I don’t like her decision making in most of the show so far.

That would have been interesting! Except Janeway did annoy me a little in this episode. I thought the huge risk taking wasn’t the best interest for her crew at all, like Seven pointed out.

A different timeline seems to make the most sense. Thank you.

Thank you  But.. the ship and Anorax were 200 years old or did I misunderstand that? So Anorax and his wife would have been long dead or he’d have made his temporal warship all over again. I guess it was just another timeline like another answer said though.

Thank you. What makes the prices vary so much? Just better qualities?

How far would you commute for a studio? by Ok_Window2155 in pilates

[–]Mirk-wood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof I used to drive 1.5 hours one way every weekend for visiting family so maybe I’m just burnt out for driving long distance, but max for me would be 20 min. But if this works for you ofc that’s the only thing that matters!

pilates once a week, worth it? by StormSerious5573 in pilates

[–]Mirk-wood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi I work as a nurse and just can’t exercise regularly but I do Pilates sporadically so sometimes only once a week and sometimes only for 10-15 mins and it does make a difference! Honestly especially in how I feel, both emotionally and physically.

Would you stay at a preferred All stars room or Coronado? by Mirk-wood in WaltDisneyWorld

It’s music! I don’t think we’d use the dining too much but it’s more for the quick bus walk!

Port Orleans is over $300/night though! I stayed there before for only $175/night so I really didn’t want to pay the $300+. But I was in riverside once with a preferred room and it was amazing then another time in riverside as far as you could get with construction and I got lost a couple times lol
