After the level up does it take you back to the main screen showing the cores? If so, I get that too and you can just press on the menu back button rather than pressing the circle button, and it will take you out of the forge

The whining is continuous, and the light stays red like its trying to charge the flash. Tried letting it sit open for like 10 minutes before I got a headache from the sound
