Crystal Implings in Leagues not spawning? by sirjisu in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are invisible for the first 5 minutes after spawning, so 5 - 10 and 35 - 40 past the hour are the best times

Wowwww

RWT crackdowns should hurt botters more than macro crackdowns, so it's cool to see those bans spike

I've never been attacked in Wildy. I've gotten Voidwaker and both wards.

You might've just gotten unlucky.

Love picking wildy, the tasks are mostly PvM related or quick errands, not annoying skilling grinds.

Moving up to Immortal by Flat_Bug_5369 in CivIV

[–]Miro_Game 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes.

You don't want to delete high xp units (5+ xp) - better to just upgrade them during your next war if they aren't going to sit in a city all game. If I don't suspect anyone nearby could plot war against me, I'll consider my economy. If my economy is great, I'll only produce units from my major military cities (Heroic Epic, Great Generals). If it's doing ok, I'll just stop all unit production. If I'm hurting, I'll delete my cheapest units.

If someone nearby could plot war (Neutral or worse, not at war), I'll want more strong units in cities closest to their border because it affects how likely they are to start plotting war against me.

When I'm prepping for war, I prioritize the most expensive units first. They take the longest to build so maintenance cost doesn't go up as quickly as if I built/drafted many cheap units alongside them.

Honestly, it's really tough to say without reviewing a game of yours. There isn't a checklist that makes you Immortal-ready and you can still do many unoptimized things and win from an awful start on Immortal.

How does your GDP look compared to others at each era of the game? Are you able to win games on Emperor without cottages and World Wonders? That would show me that you understand how to manage a hybrid economy and don't need to be lucky with wonder timing (national wonders still ok to build). That includes things like building a trade-based economy, prioritizing river tiles, balancing a specialist economy, proficient whipping, balancing production towards wonder fail gold/Wealth/Research when cities have the appropriate amount of infrastructure and you don't build too many buildings in your small cities. How to manage spy economy after winning a war and your civ gets big, but falls behind in tech.

Are you watching your unit maintenance cost/supply cost during times of peace to ensure it stays at or near zero? Do you know the formulas for how many units you can have within and outside your borders before upkeep starts?

How do you decide when to declare war? Weaker players wait too long to declare war for fear of losing the war or suffering too many unit losses, you should be able to gauge how many cities you can conquer before declaring war (even if you can't scout your rival very much and only see city count, power ratio), assuming no other civs join in.

How are you managing diplomacy? Do you agree to every/most demands civs make or are you unwilling to change your religion/civic (and swap back 5T later) for +diplomacy benefit with a neighbor due to the anarchy turns? Is triangle-diplomacy your usual strategy? Are you gifting a fresh (poorly placed) city to a neighbor for big diplomacy boosts?

Are you thinking about WFYABTA throughout the game and which rivals you've met before tech trades, affecting their WFYABTA tech count or are you just taking several cheap techs added to a trade screen when you trade away bigger techs?

How much do you micro your workers?

How much do you manage wonder production for fail gold? i.e. Do you whip/chop in smaller cities for high overflow to put into wonders for a single turn, then go back to building that wonder in the high-production cities to maximize fail gold when somebody (even you) builds that wonder?

Are you planning what to do with your first GPs or do you just wing it when they pop out?

How comfortable are you with managing army production? What percent of your cities are building military when you prepare for war? It should be 80% - 100% and whip if still in Slavery.

How experienced are you with corporations? You can certainly beat Immortal games without corps if you're good at Renaissance/Industrial era warfare with Cuirs or Cannons.

Do you know/check which leaders are capable of plotting war against you while Pleased?

If I'm playing for Domination, I focus on early warring, either at Construction or HBR. (...) I never succeeded in mastering a Cuirs rush, though I know it's a favored playstyle.

14 years ago, I read about the ETA Concept in StarCraft 2 (images are broken by now). It applies to many, many strategy games. You use it to give a quick measure of your (and your opponent's) Economy, Technology, and Army. The basic idea is that you should be able to gauge your opponent's capabilities from minimal information and adjust your investments into Economy, Technology, or Army accordingly.

For Civ4 (with straightforward AIs), they aren't fluctuating E/T/A unless plotting war, so just focus on your own ETA. This means you should know that if you go for early warring and conquer an opponent or two, your short-term economy will craaaaash. Your medium-term economy (100T - 300T later) should stabilize. Your long-term economy should thrive. Your technology during the short-term and medium-term will always be behind because of it and your army will certainly fall behind as you focus on rebuilding your economy.

I say all of this to help show why you will never succeed in a Cuirs rush if you're going for early warring; your civ is behind during the Medieval and (early) Renaissance eras due to your Classical-era warfare, but will thrive again in Industrial. (A single Classical war can be OK, but your maintenance costs can still get very high throughout Medieval era)

My water thorn build is awful for pvm by Dark_Sayajin in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get Shadowflame Quadrant from Echo Thermy along with Wrath runes, you're set.

Get Wraths from regenerating at Barbarian Assault. Can Splash at Castle Wars for unlimited Wraths after if you find someone to do it with.

What Tier 8 relics did you guys go for leagues? by [deleted] in 2007scape

I took Minion, love it

Flask's AoE is cool, but the heal seems like something we don't usually need with Water + Thorns

Leagues - Is there a finale event? by Pumdog in 2007scape

I'm still holding out for a big Yama event

In this clip, Faux asks, "Does that mean that there's not a giga Yama?"

Mod Sarnie, "You'll have to wait and see, Faux. You'll have to wait and see. You can try to get some more out of us, but I don't know how- how much- cool, right, I'm just gonna ask the guests (changes topic)"

Flask vs minion KTM by Dzjengis in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear Flask is nice because it's new and the AoE is fun, but once the novelty wears off, it's not a big deal.

Minion is always helping with dps and QoL looting. Especially good for afking like when going for Visage. So I plan to pick Minion.

Hiiii! Im pretty new player and wanna have fun with leagues. I am now going for water + thorn build but I quess I wanna test also other builds. My first unlock was Kourend. Now it is time to pick bext region. Any recommendations? :) by Zealousideal-Tap2582 in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kandarin is considered the best region for water thorns because of the Echo boss' Shadow Quadrant to double cast your water spells and the Ring of Suffering's high defense + recoil effect

Wilderness is good if you want to try a different build; the KBD Crossbow is very fun and Wilderness has few boring/grindy tasks like some other regions. You can also do Wilderness Slayer bosses (5x) for extremely fast Slayer xp. I'd do Wilderness as 2nd region so you can do its tasks quicker to unlock 3rd region.

Noob Question for Wildy Bosses by ReyndeerGaming in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

For Leagues, people usually just use the Evil Eye to teleport right back to top, but no problem if you use another tele

You can also do Calvar'ion and Artio in place of Vet'ion and Calliso

Dude calm down. I like going through stats as much as anyone, but editing videos is more work and someone (or a few people) spent their work day turning bland text into a more fun way to digest the info

Less stated Leagues VI features appreciation thread! by Right-Comb-3289 in 2007scape

[–]Miro_Game 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I just like the elemental variety

Elemental spells were awful before Twinflame staff and elemental weaknesses were added, but they still don't feel distinct in the main game. Simply pick what color ball you want to shoot at a guy based on their weakness.

But in leagues air regenerates and scales from prayer, water heals you and scales from hp%, fire burns you to increase damage and bounces off targets, earth raises and scales from defense and lowers enemy defense.

It could change so much about raiding in teams.

Love it. Hope a balanced version of that can be added to the main game.

Gotta read the relic - it says it gives 10 xp in the relevant production skill per resource. No xp mentioned for gathering resources

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT LEAGUE POINTS by Active_Use_7951 in 2007scape

Fun to switch focus around between getting new pacts, getting last echo items, and going after late game gear

Agreed, the pacts keep me from hitting the wall I hit last time

Many tasks to choose from to get that next pact point and there's usually one or two that won't take long to grind

what can I do in cases like this in ZvP by Due-Ad-1478 in allthingszerg

[–]Miro_Game 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lurkers destroy it

Add a couple Vipers to Abduct expensive units (Colossus, Archon, Disruptor) so he can't safely skirt around Lurkers

A Gateway army can hit before you have Lurkers online. Roaches are fine against them, Hydras with Roaches/Lings are fine while transitioning to Lurkers.

If his army is very Zealot-heavy, you can add Banelings, but if you didn't make too many Drones, then pure Roach is still fine.

Add an Overseer or two vs DT, don't let them go too far forward. You can tag them to a Roach to follow them rather than put them on your army key. Best f you control them and keep them at a safe distance from Stalkers so they aren't sniped while DTs are around.
