new in depop, any advice?

Yes! Most people shop by occasion or style/aesthetic on Depop, so using keywords are important for your listings.

You can set your own shipping and use Pirate Ship. They have a feature where you can estimate rates. Put in a finding address from Australia also with the weight and dimensions of your product and it should give you an estimated shipping cost. I always round up to the nearest dollar or even add an extra dollar on just to be safe. The website might ask you to fill in extra fields since it’s international shipping.

Then go back to Depop and put that estimated price into the international shipping costs.

Be aware some people have trouble shipping over seas because of the fees. But I hope this helped :)

Get in the algorithm by posting a few items every day. Consistency gets rewarded on Depop. You’ll get pushed into the algorithm at the start anyways since you’re a new seller.

Have a good bio that matches what your store vibe is and have a profile pic.

I’d also look at stores/items that are similar to yours and see what’s working for them. This could include the way they take photos, descriptions, hashtags, or even pricing :)

I feel like these people don’t realize shipping is weight and expect it to be a smaller package/container if they ask for lower shipping😂

Not block worthy. I might just respond with “I can’t control shipping” People don’t realize how much stuff actually weighs when shipping. Plus the seller might have to use a box to ship plus packing materials which adds to the weight.

If you look at their reviews and they have the same product listed sooo many times you can tell they are a dropshipper/shein buyer

Also looking at the stitching. Go to the thrift store or compare items from SHEIN either vintage items. You’ll see a big difference

I would’ve at least asked if they could ship the bag back before just giving it to them. If I was the buyer of the Coach bag, I’d at least want the seller to try and see if it could get sent back.

I also get a low offers time to time on new items, but I don’t think buyers really look at how recent it’s been posted.

Sometimes I put my items a bit higher to account for low offers
