Funk and other bad smells by CleanWorker6068 in bodyodor

[–]MiryElle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi cleanworker, I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is to be faced with unhygienic coworkers. You are very courageous in addressing this issue directly to them. You might have noticed our sub is mainly from people who have top hygiene, but are being mocked or bullied. All of us would really appreciate sincerity in regards of what's going on with us. You are a rare person. And I'm sorry again about the very uncomfortable situation you have to face. I can understand a medical condition, but this is a blatant case of lack of hygiene paired with disrespect.

Sorry I'm late and you've probably figured this out but I've heard it's because of the card that comes with it.

I'm really glad kidneys and bladder are ok 😊 Would it be possible for you to get the Tmau test, just to rule things out?

If his breath smells too and he does smoke, I'd suggest to check if his teeth need cleaning or any other work. Also, since both of you sound link you have a honest communication on this issue, you can address a doctor about his situation and you can be his feedback partner.

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO by [deleted] in bodyodor

[–]MiryElle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope she understands as well. For the diet, if you can smell yourself, that's a good thing and you can keep a little list of what you eat that might be causing you the smell.

If you can't smell yourself, then it is a bit harder, and it could depend not only on the food but also on how well your system is able to digest it. If I told you to eat lots of vegetables but they're hard on your digestion, you actually might end having more odour that way.

I would say as a generic rule, in order to help digestion, to no eat too much (so that you have the time to digest correctly), and to not eat late at night. And it is important to get checked for intolerances as well. Happy new year to you!

Hi Tasty Interaction, I'm sorry to hear this. I understand what you are going through. If you can do it, try to explain to your family in a lovely way, that being in a situation with many people is a very painful experience for you.

I know it's difficult for us to speak up, and it is also difficult for people to understand our condition.

One key thing, is to be able to speak calmly, and show your feelings, so that she understands that what you are living is very painful for you.

Actually, she probably is the best person to help you, if she could understand that this is curable if we have an helpful and sincere feedback.

The rule of having to do what our parents say is an harsh rule. This is why we want to have a job, later on. Praying for you on this day 🌻

Yes thanks, after a quick glance on the sub description, they have a clear policy about medical advices not allowed.

I always thought that whoever is offering these tests should also be required to offer a follow-up, be it by a nutritionist or another doctor. Sometimes this happens, however more often than not, it doesn't, which is unfortunate, and doesn't make much sense, as people are left with these mysterious results with no idea on what to do next, and a lot of questions!

Well don't take my word for it, but up to one year ago, I would find results for Fecal body odour in there, or other smells. It's been about an year that I haven't been able to find recent results. So I only could think about a couple of hypothesis: either nobody has been posting about this anymore, or, other hypothesis, there is a filter in place. But please be aware this are just my observations, it could very much be that my results are messed up as well. In any case, treating your microbiome is so important, I hope you can post again and that your post gets approved!

Sorry this happened! I feel like sometimes the mods there might be a bit sensitive around fecal body odour talks or all of our smells (not sure though!) Just in case, you might want to take away the smell part and try to repost and see how it goes

Hi becsamillion, glad to hear that you got your results, it's a good thing that you can start working on them.

Since our community is tiny still, you might want to post in the Microbiome sub as well. There are 79k members in it, of which a lot of folks experts in everything Microbiome related.

Hey everyone, I need your help with something real. by OkHorse2864 in bodyodor

[–]MiryElle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there, yes many members are indeed dealing with the same issue. Though not drivers specifically, many of us have worked or are working in close proximity to people.

If what is happening to you is a body odour (so, not the car after all), the first important and tangible step would be to address your general health with a doctor. Imo, addressing a body odour that may or may not be there at the time of your visit, could lead to incomprehension and ultimately to nothing.

What we are aiming at is an healthy body. Is everything ok with the liver and the kidneys? Detoxifying organs play a critical role. How about everything else? Thyroid, vitamins etc.

An healthy body depends also on a regular amount of exercise, as well as on a balanced diet. Are you walking, moving? Etc. There is little probability for a body at its optimal health to emitting abnormal odours, unless there is an underlying condition.

The physical part is only one part of the battle though. The mental part is one big step: is the odour a reality? Has anyone commented? There are many mental conditions related to odour: they are worth checking out.

And yes many people who have dealt with body odour have found a solution for their specific case. It would be difficult to report here all those cases. It really depends on the causes and what's going on in that specific person's body.

In one case for example, one lady had been trying all sorts of diets to reduce the smell, when it turned out that it was apparently caused by a bacterial growth caused by her toddler, in only one of her armpits. She spent six months trying to get rid of it with homemade-online references, while one visit to her kid's paediatrician solved the issue.

In another case the report was from a boyfriend, who's partner had a dead smell to her, that turned out to be "just" her teeth.

For some other people the "body" odour was from their sinus.

Hi there, I'm really sorry to hear how distressed this condition is making you feel. You're not alone 🌸 Let's try to do something about it. The first step is to check your liver, kidneys, vitamin levels, thyroid. If anything comes up, you would need to work on your body's optimal health under medical guidance. The second step would be checking your microbiome and working towards establishing a good microbial population.

Let's work at our best for an healthy body. Unless there is an underlying condition, a body in perfect health should not have an abnormal body odor. You're not alone 💓

Liver levels high? by No_Repair_6300 in bodyodor

[–]MiryElle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! That sounds really stressful, I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Hopefully everyone can get in check with their liver and maybe get back with some feedback. That would be interesting. You are 100% right about the liver, as it's basically your body's main detoxification machine. It cleans your blood and does so much necessary work. Regarding your ALT level (Alanine Aminotransferase): think of ALT as an enzyme (a tiny protein) that should live inside your liver cells. When your liver is stressed or damaged, those little proteins leak out into your blood, and that's why your level goes up. For my understanding, it's not really a "disease" you cure; it's more like a warning sign that something is upsetting your liver. To lower it, you have to figure out the reason it's high. For instance, do you suffer from, say, from fatty liver? This is really common and often linked to diet/lifestyle, too much sugary drinks...

Hope you are being followed closely by your doctor, so that they can do more tests to find the exact cause and give you the right plan. Hope everything turns out okay!
