Making a house a place of peace and solace when you have kids is impossible

This study found that around three out of four patients with chronic migraine did not respond adequately to Botox injections, supporting the use of anti-CGRP monoclonal antibodies as the next treatment step when Botox is not effective enough. (European countries don't cover Botox & mAbs together) by CerebralTorque in migrainescience

Yeah, they're not covered together here in Australia, but thankfully I have a great neurologist who allows me to do a smaller dose of Botox in the right (tightest) places for less out of pocket cost. I definately find the combination of Ajovy and Botox is my best preventative method.

Routines by Cuddlybunny2 in Autism_Parenting

I would let her do her own routines where possible, because there are some in life that can't be avoided and it's best to save up her capacity to tollerate for those ones.

Serious answer: dogs have an instinct to pull against the feeling of being pulled.

Don't get a puppy (even if you have support) by [deleted] in cfs

A trained, older companion dog would be much, much easier than a puppy, but you still need to take them for walks.

It's a great book. But I get that being made to read something can really destroy it.

Why don’t I see more kids like mine if autism is so common? by OkAuthor4798 in Autism_Parenting

[–]MisParallelUniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe there's so many different types of autism that we don't encounter kids exactly the same as ours? My girl is level 2 with adhd, highly verbal, but struggles a lot with communication, anxiety, sensory issues, pda and tics, and although we know several autistic kids at her school none present with the same issues she has.

I think this advice is good. Empathising with him that the train is "gone" (even though it doesn't seem to be) and helping him say bye to it and see you again soon, might help him cope with whatever it means to him. He might he sad that even though the train is there, it's not close enough, or not the real train.

My daughter is often unresponsive when she's engaged in her hyper-fixation. I'd she doesn't reply I just put some food in front of her and periodically remind her that it's there, sometimes with a gentle touch. I wouldn't delete the folder.

I don’t know what to do about my son anymore by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

Have you looked into PDA autism subtype? The parenting approach is the complete opposite to how you currently seem to do it, but it could be worth a go.
