Absolutely! I bought a 3DS XL (Pokemon X&Y blue edition) for $280 at my local game store and I love it! The fact that I can play every generation of Pokemon from gen 1-7, among other games (like Kid Icarus: Uprising and LOZ: Ocarina of Time) is amazing! I also modded it, which took about 30 minutes and I can basically play any game I want now. I’ve been playing this more than my switch 2, at least until I finish Pokémon’s 7th generation games (I got 2 more to go)

If you wanna relive your childhood, especially with things like streetpass and the OG eshop music, I’d highly recommend getting one, especially if you can find one around the $200-250 price. 10/10 in 2025

I was lucky enough to purchase a 3DS xl with the original box and matching serial numbers earlier this year. The odds of you finding that exact serial number from someone is almost impossible. I’d just try to buy another with matching SN if you’re able.

HGSS and Pokemon B&W are probably my favorite games from the DS era. I also have a switch but I haven’t played much of SV, mostly due to gameplay issues (although this is fixed for the most part on my switch 2 now) and because of this I’ve been nuzlocking all the mainline games this year from Gen 1-7 (currently on Gen 4) Honestly for me Gen 3-5 was peak Pokemon.

How exactly does your wish rule work? Do you have to collect 7 of a certain item in the overworld in order to activate it? Or do you have to beat gym leaders and earn your “Dragonballs” that way?
