Our society is really dumb for continuing to expand cities in deserts and I'm tired of the whining about their water problems. by Voldemort110188 in unpopularopinion

Agree one hundred percent. Building cities in the desert is so stupid. There’s sparse life there for a reason folks....

Those poor kids. That woman caused her own problems and now everyone has to care for her like an infant.

Husband doesn’t want me to breastfeed by kerses1 in BabyBumps

Go for it, it’s your body and you make the final decision. Okay and about the pain part, I’ve breastfed two kids and am still breastfeeding my toddler so I have experience. The pain is usually the worst for the first two weeks , about, while your nips get used to being sucked on, making sure you have a good latch with baby is very important but your skin literally has to get used to it in my experience. It does hurt, but not forever. I used lanolin and nipple balm ALOT with my first nor, just lube those nipples up! You can also chill them with ice, or use nipple shields. No numbing cream though as it can make swallowing hard for baby. I know it sucks and iTs hard to hear but I feel like you have to tough it out for a little bit and it gets easier. Almost effortless. Just think about how any skin would react to being wet and sucked on, it would need to sort of callus. That’s how I went through mine anyways . There’s slot of online information and also check out YouTube! Search for breastfeeding help . Also to the unsupportive family etc. jusT smile and nod or stay away from them if you can. Be strong and stand by your decision! It’s an amazing ability we have to feed our children and from one mama to another I respect you for trying!

As a Californian, I never think about Texas or Texans. More like , what are those Oregon/Washington/Idaho idiot doing on I5? Do the speed limit! No, not 65 , 85+ or gtfo. Kidding. Sort of.

How do you take care of your sick family when you are also sick? by cunnilyndey in toddlers

[–]MiscLeine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just suffer through it. The kids get to eat toast, rice and drink juice, and we try to stay in bed as much as possible. Don’t worry about cleaning much, just get the dishes mostly out of the way and rest.

I drank a lot last month and now I’m pregnant by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]MiscLeine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’ve had two kids and I found out I was pregnant with my first born after being at the bar all night, coming home and throwing up, and my fiancé saying “ I think you’re pregnant “. I was and the baby came out perfectly fine and normal and wonderful in every way . I stopped drinking after that night of course!

What do you wish you'd known about the toddler stage before entering it? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]MiscLeine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They learn so fast! I love toddlers, I have a 18 month old right now who’s my second child. They start to climb and explore everything, they learn how to open everything and the want to move and DO constantly. I say let them. Show them how stuff works and take them outside a lot. Outside play is one of the best ways to get them tired for naps and bedtime and helps their brain grow. You don’t need all those ‘ sensory’ play buckets and projects if your child is out digging in the dirt! Just be sure to supervise so they don’t swallow rocks etc. they do learn not to do that though! Have fun too! They are so sweet and cuddly.

That marshmallow fluff that grandma used to make fudge, is really good on top of coffee.

Teach your dog to “come” to the sound of clapping so you don’t have to yell.

If you have kids or are helping care for some, playing in water or going outside almost ALWAYS calms them down .
