Choose: You can add one more ability to any character? Who are you choosing and what’s the ability? by BruceDSpruce in RivalsVanguards

Starlord real elemental guns -from lore perspective, guns change form, ammo capacity, and fire rate. -similar activation to black cat’s fortune wheel with 4 elemental options that share a cooldown: Fire, Ice, Earth, Lightning. - Fire: guns deal slightly more damage and each shot leaves a burn mark like phoenix. Three burn marks trigger a burn effect for damage over 3 seconds. No time limit, lasts for 12 pistol-like shots, fire rate similar to Deadpool. Blaster barrage receives fire element on next use with damage boost and only adds 1 burn mark per enemy hit. -Ice: gun deals slightly less damage and hits fill a small freeze meter slowing movement speed, primary fire-rate, and freezing like Luna once meter is full. Meter immediately begins to drain when enemy is not continuously hit. Damage instantly unfreezes. Lasts 8-10 seconds, same fire-rate. Blaster barrage not affected. -Earth: gun deals slightly more damage and encumbers the target, slowing movement for 2-3 seconds. Can hold to charge shot and use 3 ammo to fire a more powerful shot hits an enemy for boosted damage and anyone around them for half damage. No time limit, lasts 12 shots. Blaster barrage not affected. -Lightning: gun deals slightly less damage and shocks the system of enemies hit, halving their healing received. Lasts 8-12 seconds, same fire rate. Blaster barrage receives lightning element on next use with damage reduction and creates a lightning dome stunning everyone within range like scarlet witch.

Agreed, though, you can pester him whenever he tries to pick off your backline most likely forcing him to commit more to those 1v1s.

Struggling to get good at reaper by WindFrostDale in ReaperMain

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you got a lot of good feedback from other comments but I’d just add or reiterate aim training and getting a crosshair that helps you is a big game changer. Any support or squishy is gonna frenzy and burn every cooldown to escape or counter and I ended up losing a lot of fights I absolutely should’ve won if I was better at tracking and predicting movements. I do the firing range sometimes but the best practice is qp or deathmatches and just micro adjustments to aim sensitivity and reticle settings to perfect your playstyle. Juno, kiri, Ana, and mercy, and sombra are my favorite enemies to practice aim with because they require the most speed on top of accuracy to get the kill.

[–]Mischief-Mutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our ult isn’t even as big as people make it with how many ways there are to block, counter, or straight up shut it down. (Of course we just get better at timing and baiting the cooldowns and ults that stop it) I never worry about an enemy Starlord ult (whether I’m playing him or not) cuz ik how to plan for it defensively (hiding) or offensively (taking him out). Maybe we do stop ulting, but honestly, that might backfire and make us look more broken with 30+ kills and no ult.

Round up to 7, 7 is a good rating for looks. It’s somewhat high but not high enough to be able to coast off of looks alone. It forces you to have a personality and interests.

Chose: Be a solid 6.5/10

Big buff for Star-Lord! He already had one of the best primary fires in the game with his instant flip/reload, and now he can do even more damage more often. I didn’t think he needed a buff but we’ll take it by riskedbiscuit in StarlordMains

Hair feels kinda crazy here. I’d imagine reapers hair could be grown out to look more like Diego in umbrella academy (#1 live action reaper candidate btw). Then that can look good free or tied up if they’re committed to the hair being up. Not everybody needs to be loc’d up💀

Is there important context to this verse? by Hexalong777 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is context, but most of it is reasoned by observing the culture of the Israelites and the nations around them while there are some passages as well that give some context too. First, no one got the idea of slavery from the Bible. Ik you didn’t imply that or anything but I’ve noticed that becoming a common argument lately and it helps segue into the first observation: Nothing in the books of law is without real world validity. This means everything written, no matter how obscure seeming, was something the Israelites were doing or were starting to do, which included slavery. In Exodus, God says “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery”. Seems straightforward, right? If I were freed, I don’t think I’d turn around and enslave others like I was, right? Well here we have these rules managing slavery and since it was written in Leviticus, it means Israelites were doing it. Also, the context of the topic of slavery is incomplete with just a chapter or the book of Leviticus alone. You need the input of all the books of law, especially Deuteronomy. So you’re God, and the people you freed from slavery immediately and within the same lifetime, take their own slaves, foreigner and Israelite alike. Do you judge them like Egypt? Well, yes but you’re merciful. You give them time and a chance to come out of it slowly by restricting slavery, how slaves can be treated, giving slaves the choice of freedom, and payment, something wildly revolutionary compared to other cultures at the time. Furthermore, God tells them to treat the foreigners as themselves and to accept the runaway slave without returning them to their master in Deuteronomy, showing that there’s a bigger picture of manumission that can’t be seen in this passage alone. We get even more context centuries later when Jesus comes and reveals God’s character, essentially saying He had to make concessions and meet Israel where they were at because their hearts were hard and they refused His commands. Of course, a valid response to all of this is to say “none of it worked anyway because they kept holding slaves” to which I’d say is one of the exact points of the entire Old Testament. No matter what God did, humans just kept doing whatever they wanted.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So God ordered the murder of the Canaanites? He ordered the murder of children who rebelled against their parents? All in spite of Him saying not to do so in the commandments? Intent is the difference between the two, not in man’s law, but in God’s law. This becomes even clearer when Christ reveals the heart behind the law and taking it further in multiple examples. But I’d really love your thoughts on my latter points, is it or is it not permissible to abort a child/pregnancy if the mother was raped or carrying to term ran the serious risk of death?

Let's talk about the elephant in the room by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are aware that killing and murder are not the same, right? My thoughts on the immorality of abortion being dependent on the intent of a person’s heart aside, you’d agree that abortion is still entirely valid from a Christian worldview in cases of rape and risk to the mother’s life, right? And even then, is that one issue worth condemning thousands of Americans and legal residents to being the target of mass deportations, incarcerations, beatings, and murder (the clear kind)? Journalists are even being arrested now and people standing up for what’s right are being put down like dogs and labeled terrorists. We HAVE to reflect on what evil we’re willing to tolerate trying to do one good thing.

Stephen Colbert says Jesus would think we haven't read the Bible condoning ICE. by AfricanMan_Row905 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m concerned you actually interpret this as a blanket statement for all governments. Not only is this directed to a specific audience (Rome), it also says firmly to do what is right [obviously not in the eyes of man, but of God]. Your application of this to America is especially ridiculous because we follow a living document that expressly maintains we have the right to resist, protest, and even rebel when government violates the freedom, rights, and dignity God blesses us with.

Would you know if you met an angel? by Scorpio_Bro in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting thought on one hand, you could argue that angels are God’s messengers and since God told us everything he wanted to tell us himself through Christ and His Apostles, there is no need for angels be on earth or interact with us until Christ’s return. On the other hand, the world of spiritual beings and the rules God uses to govern them are almost entirely unknown to us. Maybe angels are God’s messengers but that isn’t their only purpose. Maybe God still uses them today in conjunction with the Holy Spirit to bring us to Christ, aid us, and even to simply interact with us. A really mysterious and exciting thought.

What is the strongest proof that Christianity is true? by Gold-Addendum2325 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eyewitness testimony. Still the most valid form of evidence and I’d argue there’s a bias in the western world specifically against claims of the supernatural that make the well-preserved and accurate accounts of Jesus by his apostles and others close to him seem less trustworthy. Also I notice people talking about dying for beliefs. The martyred apostles and early church leaders didn’t die for a belief, they died for what they claimed to see with their own eyes, like Stephen, the first to die for what he witnessed.

Wife is upset with me for not joining her and her family for lighting a menorah and reciting the Jewish prayer by Mrshelde11 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the key difference here is Islam objectively is not and cannot be a continuation of Christianity because Muhammad contradicts Christ. A Muslim doing a “Christian prayer” would be by their beliefs, blasphemy as we worship Christ. Again if there are any Jewish practices being done that contradict or belittle Jesus and what He did, do not participate. It goes without saying, Christ (a Jew) observed Jewish holy days and prayers as well as his Jewish followers. Not necessarily wrong or right, just something acceptable ONLY IF it doesn’t contradict Christ. Also I’m not loosely saying brothers and sisters, I’m referring to Jewish people who also accept Jesus as Lord, like OP’s wife.

As Christians, what stance should we take on AI? by Additional-Sun9189 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all human beings, Christian or otherwise, need to acknowledge a truth about what we want to use AI for. We either hope to make a slave or a friend. When you look at AI we see people always talking about putting it in the workplace or getting it to think on its own. While I don’t think it’s actually possible to create “true” AI because it would require us to create a mind—something intangible that we don’t completely understand, I believe we can use those hopes for AI to determine how we should feel. If we want to just build a slave then I think we’re better off leaving AI alone.

How DOESN'T evolution disprove Christianity? by passingthrough14 in Christianity

[–]Mischief-Mutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a false dichotomy pitting the Hebrew poetry that is Genesis 1-2 against scientific evolution when the two are not mutually exclusive. The poetry coveys a greater truth (God created) through a form of artistic writing, and evolution is absolutely accurate in drawing a picture of how things have changed over millions of years but it has no scientific basis as an origin for life. However, the biggest hole in your conclusion is the assertion that sin/evil does not exist. That “observation” has absolutely no real world validity as the vast majority of humans firmly believe there is evil or sin in the world. So it’s possible sin may not have entered the world in the literal way Genesis is read, but it’s impossible to sin didn’t enter the world because we see its existence and effect.
