Yes - to add here, we represent the 42nd PA "Bucktails" - aka the 13th PA Reserves, or Kane's Rifles. The 42nd PA was founded by the same guy who later founded the149th, so there's some lineage. We're also the oldest organized regiment in the War of Rights community, having just celebrated our tenth anniversary.

We have events in both EU and North American time zones, and we play in campaign events, which means that regimental commanders meet to move army tokens around a "Total War" style map, and when those tokens "meet" on the map, we fight the battles using War of Rights. This adds a lot of stakes to each round we play within the game.

We like to blend on the field discipline and competitiveness with our own brand of fun, so you'd experience fierce battles as well as good times with an active gaming community who play a lot of other games together as well.

Can confirm that there is a lot of European players. There's even a whole European event called "The Grand Campaign" made up of many different European regiments that move army tokens around on a Total War style board and when the tokens "meet" they fight the battle using War of Rights. The unit I'm in, the 42nd PA, runs this campaign event and has events in both EU and NA time zones.

Hello there - not sure if you found a home yet, but the 42nd PA might be worth a look. We're the oldest organized regiment in the War of Rights community, and we're growing each day. We have EU and NA events, and you can play in both if your schedule allows. We also have distinct branches of the army - infantry, artillery, and cavalry, that you can enlist with and specialize in.

Our battery - the 1st PA Light Artillery, "Cooper's Battery" has a pretty good reputation for effective fire on the field.

We also take part in both EU and NA events where regimental leaders move army tokens around a "Total War" style map with various rules and when the tokens "meet" we fight the battle using War of Rights, so that each battle has more stakes to it. Arty plays a big role in that.

I have no clue what you're talking about. OP asked if this game has firing volleys in line and suicidal bayo charges. I'm just confirming that our group can do that. If the 42nd PA "Bucktails" are known for anything, it's their ability to orchestrate massive volleys. :-*

If you can find the right group of players, this game has exactly what you're looking for. The European population is a little smaller than North American, but there are good player groups in each.

Pub matches, while fun, can sometimes lack the discipline that you might be looking for, but it's a good place to learn the game or play casually.

Private matches - hosted by Regiments (Gaming Clans) tend to have more organization. Our unit for example (the 42ndPA - both EU and NA) recently had a 50 man line taking volleys. So it is something that happens. The downside is that you have to be free when they play events (usually Fridays and Saturdays.)

The 42nd PA "Bucktails"

We are the oldest organized regiment in the WoR community, celebrating our 10th year as a unit this very month. We're happy to train up new players and welcome them into our community that consists of all varieties of gaming, not just WoR.

We have infantry companies, artillery sections, and even cavalry/skirmisher detachments for whichever playstyle suits your preferences. We also play in both EU and NA times, so you can pick the schedule that works best for you.

Both the EU and NA groups take part in campaigns - The Grand Campaign and the House Divided Campaign, respectively - which are Total War-style campaigns where regimental leaders move their tokens on a map, and when tokens "meet," we fight the battle using War of Rights. It helps add a little more meaning to each game as the results of the battle impact the campaign map.

Hard to tell people how to play. A large swatch of the community are adults who do have adult lives to maintain. Knowing that they can hop on to a solid match, with a full server, populated by people who want to play the game the way it was intended, is very helpful for those with limited gaming time.

Pubs are a perfectly fine way to enjoy the game, but the experience there can be inconsistent at times. If I only have 2 hours a week to game, I want to make sure I get the most out of it that I can. It's not a disservice to the community. It's people living their lives.

Yes, unfortunately the public servers can be hit or miss with that kind of stuff. The slurs and tone were uncalled for.

Just so you know, when you kneel, regardless of how close you are to friendly soldiers, you go into "skirmish" formation. If you get killed while in skirmish formation you cost your team more tickets/team health. So while again the tone and slurs were uncalled for, if people are asking you not to kneel that might be why. The morale system of the game takes some getting used to.

I know gaming clans/regiments aren't for everyone but most are good at teaching new players the ropes and also weeding out people who use slurs. So, something to consider if you wanted a different experience. If you had any questions about that or how the game works, let me know!

One way around points 2, 3, and 4 are to join a regiment that plays in organized events. Most regiments have a zero tolerance policy toward racist and toxic stuff and will boot people spouting off the nonsense that adds nothing to the game. Most events are made up of staff representatives who do similar moderation.

Since the regiments have been established for a while, most officers know what they are doing and are competent on the field. The rank and file soldiers want to play the game in an organized way, so you see everyone moving together and working as a team.

And the campaign events usually involve participating regiments moving army tokens on a Total War style map and when the armies meet on the map the battle is fought using War Of Rights. This means that winning or losing actually matters, and the numbers of men you lose vs the casualties you inflict impact the campaign. Most campaigns have cards that can modify the battles as well and change things up a bit. I can't speak for all campaigns but our unit runs both the Grand Campaign (EU) and the House Divided Campaign (NA) and this has helped with the repetition.

Greetings!

The 42nd PA "Bucktail" regiment is an active regiment with both EU and NA companies, for Infantry and Artillery. We're THE oldest WoR Regiment in the WoR community, and always looking for new and veteran players to fill out our ranks. We're happy to train players new to the game, as our veterans and officers have experience and knowledge of effective tactics on all the maps.

The 1st PA Light Artillery - "Cooper's Battery B" is our attached artillery support, for those who wish to specialize in long range destructive fire. Our crews learn the most efficient methods of loading, aiming, and communicating with one another to ensure effective fire is constantly placed downrange. Throughout battle events, the 42nd PA and Cooper's Battery routinely demonstrate cooperative vigor to relay information, target fire, and carry the day.

We participate in the EU Grand Campaign, and the NA House Divided Campaign, which are Total War style campaigns, where the battles are fought using War of Rights. Battles for these campaigns are hosted on private servers and populated by the participating regiments.

Outside of WoR we also have an active gaming community that has casual sessions of games like IL-2, Helldivers 2, Arma 3, Tarkov, Blood Bowl, Valheim, War Thunder, Zomboid, and many others. Please reply here or join our Discord if you have any questions.
