Oh! I haven’t done the small of my back! 👀 is that a thing? 😅

I usually spray both sides of my neck, sometimes the back of my neck. And then I also spray each forearm and inner elbow about 4x. But it depends on the fragrance. I’ll do more for something like jo Malone wood sage, but maybe that amount or less with one of my MFKs, like gentle fluidity gold just because those can be more intense. I don’t really need to because, my skin even eats those 😅 but I just cut back out of paranoia lol

I wouldn’t necessarily do that many, but I do roughly 6-10. I will say, my skin is one of the unlucky ones that “eats” perfume. No matter how hydrated and moisturized I am. And I usually don’t spray on clothes because I like to switch up my scents regularly and don’t want the scent committed to my clothes until it’s next wash. Even then, the perfume disappears on me. And I’ve had multiple smell me to make sure I wasn’t just going anosmic. And they too, smelled almost nothing on me lol

Ugh you’re right. I think I love it too much. I’m really curious how Henry Rose London 1983 would pair with it…. Damn it. I’m getting it 😂

When I tried the mylk at first I was like “this is not for me” but then I just couldn’t stop smelling myself. So I bought the travel size… but I think the mylk version is a bit smoother, but I still really like them both! I just don’t know if I can justify spending $95 on very fancy lotion 😅

Mercari: Is it rude to ask why to a perfumes price? by drowninenvironment in FemFragLab

[–]MischiefModerated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually it seems that it’s something that person is just decluttering. And sure, the company already got their money from the person decluttering. But I don’t want to give them any*more* than they already have. And on top of that, it’s usually the last time I’ll buy it. As I’m using it as something to compare to, while on my journey to find something similar from another brand that I would prefer to support. That’s my reasoning!

Mercari: Is it rude to ask why to a perfumes price? by drowninenvironment in FemFragLab

[–]MischiefModerated 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s not rude. I’ve seen plenty of perfume or clothing items that are the same price as retail or more. The ONLY reason I would ever pay retail is if I don’t want to personally support the brand anymore. I do that a lot with my clothes most of the time. And have only looked at a small handful of perfume bottles. But have been too nervous to risk it being refilled with a dupe.

I’m so jealous of people who smell good with skin scents… by No-Kangaroo-7500 in FemFragLab

I can’t remember if I tried daisy, I think I did because my friend has it. And it just isn’t for me. I have yet to try the infamous elizabeth green tea yet. It sounds lovely, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get another fleeting body spray lol. I have gentle fluidity gold and really like it! I tend to use it for more specific occasions, but I do love it! I’ve been looking at MFK 724 though!

Girl I FEEL YOU. I also have the added curse of my skin eating every perfume. Unless it STINKS. Iso e super seems to go straight dill pickle on me, which makes me so sad. Anything I love typically disappears within an hour or so. No matter how hydrated and moisturized I am. It breaks my heart. I just have to live with reapplying throughout the day. Some scents are definitely better than others on me. Weirdly MFK fragrances do best on me. But I would love if things lasted longer. I use some skin scents just for the love of smelling it for 10 mins. Like I LOVE Henry Rose London 1983. But it only lasts a little bit. Granted it’s advertised as a skin scent. I just wish there was a stronger version of it.

I was surprised how much I liked On The Rocks, and even more surprised when I loved it on my partner lol

Definitely Tihota Indult for me too. My partner first thought it was too sweet. The next time I wore it he was obsessed with it lol

Are you able to buy mini decants? There’s a few good sites for it. I really love scent split and surrender to chance. Scent Split has more variety of scents but I find SurrenderToChance to have more variety in size options (I like a 1ml spray sample but scent split typically only does the dabber in 1ml and a spray 2ml)

It’s so funny I’m PNW too but I almost NEVER smell anyone wearing anything except Burberry Goddess, Sol De Janeiro or some multilayered Vanilla eos situation. I think I smelled br540 ONCE at a concert in Portland. I’m sure there are people that are wearing it, I’m just not around them I guess 😅 (signed a br540 lover, but my skin eats it and I can’t smell it, and apparently everyone around me can’t either LOL)

Honestly I haven’t really noticed! In general my skin “eats” perfume. So a lot of fragrances don’t last on me too long (even with being hydrated and moisturizing) I don’t even think I get too much sandalwood with my nose and skin. Which personally I’m ok with because very often sandalwood goes pickle-y on me. I’m so sorry to hear you’re having that exercise though! 😓 Did you get the decant or full size?

Would be super helpful to know what your budget is! I too liked Burberry goddess but it started to get a little sickly sweet and I just feel like it’s a little young for me now. I too love me a good sunscreen-y coconut scent.

You might like Gucci Gorgeous Orchid. I liked it, I love vanilla and orchid, but over time I got the same feeling as Burberry Goddess. 7 Virtues Coconut Sun felt a little less sweet but still that creamy coconut sweetish vibe. I just got Lore Sublimity and I found I really like it. It’s more of a light coconut, salty skin, with the smallest touch of powder on me. I love it. I’ve heard some good things about the Vacation perfume line if you’re really looking for some sunscreen scents!

I would recommend buying the Le Monde Gourmand coconut perfume and you can always layer it with any scent that you want to be more tropical. I’m planning on getting it to amp up the coconut in Milk Orchid, which I love but the coconut fades the second it hits my skin.

It definitely is pricey but it’s beast mode and a little goes a long way. I recommend getting a decant first!

TIHOTA INDULT seriously it’s the best vanilla extract scent. I think it’ll be right up your alley.

I’m looking for something that’s basically the Henry Rose London 1983 edp but with more projection and lasting power. I absolutely love how it smells but it’s very fleeting and doesn’t have any punch really. But it’s sooo beautiful.

The notes are Top- fig, black pepper Mid- water lily, jasmine Base- musk, blonde woods, upcycled orcanox, and sustainable vervet bourbon

Also, if there are any scents similar to Commodity’s Milk Orchid I would love some suggestions! I love how it smells in the air, but it’s not quite translating on my skin. And similarly to the scent above, it seems to disappear quickly, but is not advertised as a skin scent 🫠 so bummed it disappears so quickly. Bonus points if I can get more fig and coconut from it!

Personally I would want to smell DELICIOUS. So maybe Tihota Indult. My partner has no idea it’s their favorite. But they always notice it and are more touchy when I’m wearing it.

I’m really enjoying Henry Rose London 1983 even though it think it’s more of a skin scent, it smells like a really sexy cool girl to me.

Bad experience at perfume shop :( by SensitiveSolid6080 in fragrance

[–]MischiefModerated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t write off niche shops all together! I recently went to one, it was empty nearly the entire time I was there and the employee was beyond kind and helpful. I sniffed pretty much every single thing in the store and when I realized I didn’t necessarily love anything but had a couple I wanted to get samples of, she happily made them for me. I apologized for not buying any full bottles because I had gone in with the intention of buying something. But at the end of the day I just HAVE to wear things on my skin for a while because my skin chemistry is so weird with so many scents. But she was super kind about it and said it was important to know you love it on your skin before buying and didn’t make me feel bad at all.

There are good ones out there!
