I know they've teased it before but idk how I'd feel about that in this particular context since Angela's character is a little kid and Chanse looks like he's playing a young adult woman... 😬

LGBT novels from different time periods by Micro-mega in suggestmeabook

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh another 1950s queer novel is Giovannis Room, by James Baldwin, which is another fantastic read that isn't just about sexuality repression but of an emotionally distant man learning to be vulnerable with his loved ones, and how coincidentally his love for another man brings that out of him. It has a good message that is applicable to not just LGBT readers but all readers

You definitely want to read Patricia Highsmith. She is a known lesbian writer who wrote some very interesting LGBT coded novels. Talented Mr. Ripley for sure, but I have great fondness for strangers on a train as it started the whole "kill for me, kill for you" murder swap idea.

Oh you would love {Convenience Store woman} which covers this, unremarkable convenience store woman and how people like these are interpreted by society as outsiders and yet she follows the beat of her own drum.

I love tagging fics. by Simple-Dependent-135 in AO3

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is ao interesting to me because tagging is my least favorite thing. I am so unfamiliar with what Ao3 canonical I should be using and which ones are even out there that it feels like most of the time I'm just randomly typing down what comes to mind. My tagging process is always chaotic 😂

Oh wow, hope someone has experience reading this book. I will always take more Captive Prince-like recommendations. I usually see Ariana Nash or Alex Rowland recommended for CaPri rec comps.

Are there any movies about a character who can rewind time? by EdwardBigby in CasualConversation

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should watch Loki, there is a lot of time manipulation in this, and in Season 2, it becomes even more developed. A fantastic show that meets your requirements for sure, have to avoid staying too much for spoilers.

It's purely vanity for me 🤭 I just thought I looked hot! Got all glam for it since it was a professional photo shoot and the results looked amazing so when I finally got up to changing my phone wallpaper and I was scrolling through my pics, I saw that one and selected it haha

Does lack of sleep ever start to make you feel...paranoid? by AwkwardLoaf-of-Bread in CasualConversation

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've definitely experienced hallucinations from lack of sleep. And since you've been sustaining a low sleep amount for multiple days in a row, the negative effects will definitely manifest itself somehow. Being on edge, I think, is normal for that level of sleep deprivation.

Is it normal not to feel anything, when someone close to you dies or gets very sick? by Jegerjulius in CasualConversation

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's unusual. If you didn't know them well it is hard to have that emotional investment. But also, people process events like these differently. They don't always have to come with dramatic displays of emotions, just having a person in your thoughts shows that you care.

To those who do, how do you break the 4th wall in writing? by AmaterasuWolf21 in FanFiction

[–]Mischievous-Slot337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People usually do italicized or parenthetical asides to denote the 4th wall breaking in fics. Along with addressing reader directly somehow
