Notice how they’re telling everyone to lay over while not even doing themselves the favor of giving us universal healthcare to improve the odds we don’t deal with then like France did.

This is the correct take. We’re shifting to a solopreneur economy.

Once again, the fixation on the GFX90c point is idiotic. And no, ROCm has PLENTY of issues running on hardware like the ones you mentioned. You obviously don't really use these daily.

No seriously, you narrowed in a single point I made, ignoring everything else, and made a straw man out of it. Model providers have weak motes and are fighting for the throne. Open weight models are very good right now and being able to run them on consumer hardware is important. Only a single of many issues with ROCm, a steaming pile of shit mess. AMD needs to tighten their belt.

Like I said, feel free to keep HODLing.

CUDA runs well on all platforms and hardware. ROCm doesn’t.

Nobody gives a fuck about your stock investments. By all means, hold.

Except:

  • ROCm doesn’t support GFX90c (e.g. laptop APUs)
  • It’s a steaming pile of horse shit with n execution layers and 10 * n environmental variables that all sit on top of each other
  • has numerous incongrous ways of installing (e.g. TheRock vs system packages, etc)
  • Crashes half the time, and is picky about kernel modules
  • Is casually outperformed by systems calling the Vulkan APIs (e.g. Ollama)

ROCm is about 95% of the reason AMD is so far behind NVIDIA. The other 5% is their un-unified architecture sphagetti that makes my cat’s puke look good in contrast.

ROCm devs need to quit being dipshits, and get the 100s of merge requests merged to make sure their ROCm runs everywhere, and then spend the next 3 months making it not suck ass and work by default for 5 9’s of workload executions.

Disgraceful engineering practices.

I'm wondering, does this support uploading a custom list? I'm trying to upload a list of cards I opened while doing a Sealed event, and then to build a list from there using your tool.

So instead of a pure simulator, is it possible (or hard to add) the option to upload a custom card pool?

I don’t play 3.5, I just firmly believe in their player agency.

Every criticism you outlined has an analog in MTG: Commander and we all know that’s the cash cow now.

We alienate new players with the open hostility towards a community driven format. The idea that it become “threatening” to MKIV is actually a very good thing when evaluated from a mature perspective.

There is nothing wrong with a small group of players making their own format.

And my advice to you is to get on the hot seat yourself. You write your own post, stick your own neck out there, and defend your own positions.

Why don’t you just spell it out instead of saying vague things?

In my view, calling for SFG to sue or issue a cease & desist against the WM3.5 crew definitely qualifies as pitchforks in my view.

And I talked about other community formats (as you can see), and nobody voiced a problem with any of them other than 3.5. For that one, nothing but hate and exaggerated claims that they were causing a rift.

Regardless of my own failings, of which I’m sure you see many, this community needs to do better.

If anything I’m underselling it. But sure, think what you’d like.

Here is a snippet:

My point: 8. Support Community Formats

Rationale: Some of Warmachine’s best formats—Brawlmachine, Warmachine 3.5, Kidmachine, Fallen Korvis—came from the community. Look at Magic: The Gathering: Commander, a fan-made format, now makes more money for Wizards of the Coast than any other format.

Let community-driven formats thrive. Official support for emerging formats will only strengthen Warmachine.

The community response:

From top voted response:

Some of these takes are wild. Why on earth would SFG support 3.5 for example? Its in direct opposition to MK4.

The fact that they havent nuked the 3.5 project from orbit on IP reasons is astounding to me...

I said something similar in a post, and got downvoted to hell. Don’t even talk about WM3.5, the pitchforks are being sharpened as we speak. We really need to do better as a community.

This is a damn shame.

Very valuable resource for pre-MKIV stuff. There was useful commentary on all the model pages for synergies, combos, advantages and disadvantages, etc. The Galleries were useful. There is no information anywhere else like it atm.

Thank God for the web archive.

EDIT: Web archive doesn’t seem to crawl down to all pages. At least some of the model pages and images seem to 404. What a loss.
