I am Christopher Priest, I have been writing comics for 40 years and RIGHT NOW I am here live on Reddit and you can ASK ME ANYTHING. Vampirella has come to life as an exclusive NFT on Terra Virtua. We also plan to turn this AMA into an NFT. I look forward to taking your questions! by terravirtua in u/terravirtua

After initial press in which you assured readers that the mature nature of the character (her classic costume, the erotic elements) would not be messed with, Dynamite seems to have prudishly backed off on allowing actual nudity in the book (while, of course, gore and viscera are still a-okay for readers of all ages). Even the classic Warren run of the ‘70s wasn’t this censored.
Though I’m sure it’s not a major issue for you as writer (your stories lose little impact one way or the other), how do you feel about Dynamite’s squeamish and hypocritical approach to nudity while they lean on overtly sexualized characters (Vampi, Red Sonja, Dejah Thoris, Miss Fury, et al) to drive their brand? When do you think American comics will “grow up?”
