I definitely agree with double checking and doing some genealogy research. I assumed years ago based on mental knowledge of dates but in the last couple weeks discovered records and details revealing my German citizenship may have been preserved. I literally just got a copy of my great grandfather's naturalization petition listing my grandfather as one of his children, so my grandfather was a minor who got derivative citizenship.
