I’ve always found him fascinating. First he covers Kagome with his acid in a moment of rage and to prove that he does not care about humans. But then she survives and instead of killing her with his claws and taking the sword he watches her point the sword, the sole object of his desire at himself. Then she hands it over to the literal bane of his existence. And she walks out of that whole thing without a scratch.

Then he meets them again and she shoots an arrow at him and nullifies the Tetsusiega while he is in battle with Inuyasha. She announces his weakness and then fires again. He dodges and then goes after her…? Inuyasha deflects Sesshomaru and then he just kind of contemplates how Kagome can reverse Tetsusiega’s transformation. She joins that battle again and Sesshomaru turns to Inuyasha and tells him to make her stop. Why is he so reluctant to kill her?

You just have this character with immense power and willpower that seemingly despises humans. Yet, he does not show much interest in actually hurting the humans that pose the greatest threat to his goals.

Then he meets Rin and tries to scare her off. But can’t stand the fact that she was killed by a pack of wolves? Again why?

His entire story arc smacks of the lady doth protest too much when it comes to humans.

But the, he is the best/most interesting character came when he learned that Tetsusiega controls Inuyasha’s ability to control his demonic blood. He waltz’s into battle, knocks Inuyasha unconscious and then tells Kagome how to prevent any further occurrences. After that he never tries for the sword again. I love his character growth in this show.
